[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

I recommend so, Get both Warlords and on the day the next expansion, get that as well cause this mod is converting to Beyond the Sword.

On the next version, will there be more gunpowder units? I want to see the hyboren's evil uses for gunpowder.

About the mod being converted to Beyond the Sword, just wondering, what reasons are there for this? What features does Beyond the Sword have over regular Civilization IV that can be used?

There probably won't be too many more gunpowder units, but maybe a demonic cannon or arqebus may slip through.

Lists new BtS features, we are still discussing which ones to implement and in what way.

Ooh, I like the thing about the AI enhancements, I hope they are valid in FFH. It has always annoyed me a bit that the harder difficulty levels, instead of having much smarter AI instead just give you a handicap and the AI a bonus. Ah well, cant have everything...

Dear friends,

I like the MOD - nice units, techs and buildings! :goodjob:

I'm playing it on the fantasy map most of the time or the inland lake. But I found out - playing on the 2nd highest level - that the AI is realy weak. Having Barbarians on raging they other AI Players are in big troubles to built up there empires - skeletons and orcs are killing them regualry ;) Nice for beeing a good human ruler, but at the end it's a little bit boring.
My mistake?
And the armagedon counter is not going higher than 50 most of the time and even then I can not see what 50 is doing in the game...

Looking forward to ideas how to make it more funny.

regards
Gwydion

I don't think the counter does anything at fifty... the only time i've seen the counter go up higher than twenty is when im the sheim and trying to make it rise.

I looked at the BtS list and it looks like the only really usable things on that list (at least for this mod) are the corporations, natural disasters and improved AI. I'd like to see what you guys can do with the corporations, that would be interesting. Other than that, I don't see much that BtS has to offer. But then again, you guys are amazingly good at what you do, and no doubt will find some other feature to make it worthwhile. In short, do what you will, I trust you.

As opposed to Vanilla CIV that has a dynamically changing background and intro song, and has -not- been the same since release of the game 2 years ago...

Yeah, right.

*Shakes his head in exasperation*

But... On that thread. The Lord's Prayer in Swahili = Win.

I know you posted this DAYS ago ;) but the compser for "Baba Yetu" (VanilliaCIV's theme song) is Christopher Tin. You can check out some of his other music at www.christophertin.com AND you can get a free download of "Baba Yetu" along with some of his other works.

He writes fantastic scores for games and movies. Very talented guy. Send him some props!

I am playing the Khazad and cannot build Dwarven Slingers. I can build Crossbowmen with Archery Ranges. There is no text yet under Slingers so I have no clues. Any ideas? Thanks. :)

Now that you can build crosswbowmen I'm pretty sure that the slinger is removed as obsolete, From the wiki there is no requirement other than the archery range which is the same as the crossbowman.

I can still build Warriors and they are basically obsolete due to the availability of Hammerfists, Soldiers, etc. I never saw Slingers as an option.

Is there way to see an enemy Shadow unit?

I played be dwarves, and in war with elves i was constantly attacked by elven Shadow. It killed most of my siege units :(
And I found no way to see and kill it. Surprisingly, my own dwarven Shadows do not see enemy shadows.. :(

Marksmen and Sand Lions are good counters to Shadows. However, I don't know if they are available to dwarves.

Here's something you can do until Kael and co. finally put in a unit that the Khazad can use to find shadows. Click on globe view and then activate the military overlay (the little button with the helmet in it). Then click on Enemy Military and suddenly you can see the shadows even though they are supposed to be invisible. Then send a Dwarven Druid or two to where the shadow is and use the Crush spell on the shadow (the tile will light up even if you can't see the unit). Repeat until the shadow is dead.

Hmmm.
Slingers are definetly being removed because you can build crossbowman, but warriors should be obsolete too.
Specifically are you sure that you can build hammerfists, crossbowman, soldiers, and warriors in the same city?

No it's true that dwarves cannot see shadows unless they use the OO only spell Floating Eye. Maybe we should just allow dwarven shadows to see invisible.

EXPLOITER! ;)

EXPLOITER! ;)

Sure, you call me an exploiter now but when you guys finally figure out how to get the AI to cast targeted spells and then wonder how the heck the AI always knows that your shadow is right next to their high priest of the Order (and subsequently burn the shadow off the face of Erebus), now you know how you can get even.

You are right. I cannot build warriors.
