[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

I was so glad to see that the BtS version is finally here.
I have patched BtS to the latest version, installed FfH2 v025a but I always get a CtD after having set all game parameters.

This happens with all civilizations I have tried.

Any idea?

Me waited long enough and me want to PLAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! :(

Make sure you are running Beyond the Sword version 3.13.
 
I don't know about everyone else, but I feel that the old diplomacy music for Auric Ulvin was FAR FAR more fitting than the new one. The new one just sounds wrong in combination with the leaderhead.

Yeah, I know that, but still... it suited Mulcarn... it doesn't so much suit Auric Ulvin, at least I feel. (Sure, he is technically Mulcarn, but still)
 
I am really glad to see Fall From Heaven ported to the BTS expansion! Alas, however, my first day trying it with my lady yielded many many OOS errors. We were both playing Cassiel and it didn't seem to be triggered by a specific event. I don't have a save, but due to the frequency of these errors I suspect that someone else will have one soon enough.
 
I have the D2D 3.13 version of BTS. I downloaded this mod today along with the media pack and the patch "a".

As the MOD loads it crashes, this pop up comes up:

"Load Error: GFC Error: failed to initialize the primary control theme."

This happens when the loader screen reads "...Intite Fonts 112.42..."

1) Does the Mod work with D2D BTS 3.13?
2) Is it only the media files that are causing the problem, and if I reinstall just the mod will it work?

Edit: I also have the D2D version of Warlords installed.
 
I didn't think the BtS version 3.13 was available yet for Direct2Drive downloads, so maybe you borked your installation and need to wait until the correct BtS patch is available.
 
Great release, thanks a bunch! There were a few minor things I noticed that were implemented in version .23 but are missing in version .25:

1) The "Glance" screen under the diplomacy button.
2) The sidebar which lists the type of mana that your civilization has access to.

Will these be added back or is there another reason why they're not included?
 
That's odd... i can't find the FFH age of ice diplomacy music in the BTS assets (i looked within the Age of ice sounds folder and within the regular BTS sounds folder)
 
I just tried the mod for the first time after the new 3.13 patch came out and I have the direct2drive BTS. No problems so far, wish I had some idea what was causing trouble for you.

Just wanted to stop in and show my serious appreciation for such a mod. I had no idea there was anything like this out there. Best wishes to who all who worked on it and continue to do so. Thanks again. :goodjob:
 
I wanted to say this, but I think it's time that this game start becoming a novel, it's wonderful and I expect this to become a movie sooner or later. Why I think of this is because of the awesome you have done to build up this beautiful mod.

Now to get on topic, I wanted to suggest one thing for this mod. this mod kinda lack building sounds, besides the carnival, and some other stuff, I expect more sounds for the buildings.
 
Patch "b" is uploaded and linked in the first post. It will break save games and makes the following changes.

1. Fixed broken graphics on the Pit Beast, Manticore, Sand Lion, Lifespark and Earth Elemental.
2. Really fixed the Arena CtD.
3. Fixed the Stable event error.
4. Fixed the error on religious conversion.
5. Fixed the Lifespark spell.
6. Acolytes and Crusaders are now spawned on Order spread.
7. Added a Debug option to disable Hidden Nationality (for OOS testing).
8. Enslavement chance won't carry over between players/games.
9. Trait application rewritten (causing all sorts of issues, traits carrying over between players/game, etc).
10. Fixed the display of commerce modifiers on buildings.
 
I have Civ/BTS 3.13 and installed the mod, but I get:

mods\fall from heaven 2 025 is an invalid mod directory, ignoring

the ini file seems ok, the readme list 025a, everything seems ok. Any pointer?

nb: civ is installed on drive D: You have not hard wired a path toward the standard civ directory, in case of?

Anything weird for you? If I load BTS and ask the list of mods, FFH is not listed, so for BTS, there is something missing...
 
The shortcut requires that you have Civ4 installed in the default location but you should be able to load it from within BtS just fine (Advanced -> Load a Mod).
 
Ah damn! You really should have stated that patch b breaks savegames in this thread, too. Now I can't finish my game anymore, that sucks.

So everyone: Patch b is NOT savegame compatible!

But very impressive fixing speed, Kael! :)
 
I have noticed a couple errors in playing the New BTS 3.13a.

EDIT: This may be invalid with patch b

- When you click on a leader portrait in the foreign advisor screen, it cuts you to a civilopedia entry. (Each leader goes to a specific one, but as far as I can tell - it doesn't really relate to that leader. EX: Clicking on Cassiel's portrait jumps to Civilopedia entry of Consume Soul; Auric Ulvin jumps to Add to Flesh Golem.)
- I am no longer allowed to name a city when you found one.
- Even though the reqs for seeing demographics is 0, you still can't see them.
