[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

Since I'm currently playing the Seaim and given that the FfH Civilopedia isn't accurate (so far I've never gotten either a Ahmen or Synish Minotaur -- though they do sound cool -- nor are they listed in the "Units" section), does anyone have a good list of the units actually produced from the various Sheaim buildings? I'm especially intered in the Bear Totem that doesn't show producing any units and if they do NOT then there is no real reason to construct them (or than, possibly, defense).

Thanks. Since I'm close to building Bear Totems (in the hope that I get something new...), I'd appreciate a quick response if anyone out there knows the answer.

Gambling House -- Revelers

Mage Guild -- Moebius Witches

Carnivals -- Chaos Marauders

Large Animal Stables -- Manticores

Public Bath -- Succubi

Weaponsmith -- Minotaur (I think this used to be two separate types, but that would have to be early in the light phase. Ahmen and Synish Minotaurs are defined as two graphics types for the unit)

Temple of the Veil -- Tar Demons


No point in building Bear Totems.

(In my modmod, I'll probably add several more planar gate units for different builings.)

This is weird... Would constructing the wonder that puts a weaponsmith in every city void this unit? I have NEVER seen a minotaur.

Of course, I DO get mobius witches from the mage guilds I get in every city from the wonder for this...
 
I have a reasonable amount of pride and I really hate to beg. I also don't like to whine though my wife accuses it of me constantly. I also know that I'm probably the biggest pain in the *ss that you guys (and gals?) have since I think (?) that I post more than anyone else currently playing FfH (I may also play the game more than anyone else -- much to my family's displeasure!!).

But...

Despite the fact that a few people has assured me that it's still in the game and I have gotten the event ONCE (to add one shield to an existing forge), I REALLY miss the forge event that I used to get almost every game. It was a nice thing to have early in the game to help your civilization get up and running. It get a LOT of obolisk events and a LOT of "hang the witch", but no offers for a new forge (and, again, I've played many, many games since -- I think -- "f" came out changing it).

So... PLEASE.... With sugar on top... Can we get the "forge" event back up to speed?

Late game, I got an event where I found some machine parts and had the option to reassemble them. Doing so netted me this beast.... (gee I wonder if he'll win any fights with his 1 billion first strikes...) :)

That is what happens when python tried to give out a non-existent promotion.

This event tries to apply "UNIT_PROMOTION_STRONG" or "UNIT_PROMOTION_WEAK" instead of "PROMOTION_STRONG" or "PROMOTION_WEAK"

This has already been addressed and will be fixed in the next patch.

I think Kael has set it up so that you only get the Khazad event if the Khazad are in the game. If you want to mod it yourself, feel free to go into the XML for the event and change the prereq civ to NONE.

Known Issues:
1. "GFC error: failed to initialaize the primary control theme" error loading the mod. You will recieve this error if FfH isn't installed in the correct location (under Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods). If you don't have Civ4 installed to that location just make sure the FfH is installed in the same directory as Final Frontier, Age of Ice and the other mods that came with BtS.

This is usually a problem for people with Windows Vista, because its default installation locations are different.
 
I was wondering whether For The Horde would ever award me with Acheron the Red Dragon. I want the city he is in but he is more powerful than Rantine, who is waiting in it to use his special ability which converts the city.
 
It only works on units with PROMOTION_ORC and without PROMOTION_HERO (so you can't take over Orthus either)
 
Okay..well on that note, will Rantine ever get enough promotions to be stronger than Acheron and thus convert the city to my control? Or will I forever have this thorn in my side until perhaps I get a very strong nationality-less unit/some one else invades the city.

Yeah, I've been told that and I've intentionally introduced the Khazad as one of the civilization several times to no avail. I might try your suggestion.

I don't know if it helps, but I always wait until I get Beastmasters to take the city that Acheron guards -- they can actually capture him. Of course, if you do get him (and bring plenty of other units to weaken him!!), you'll find that he cannot move out of the square in which he is located (his "imoves" is set to "0" so that he doesn't leave the city). Since I like having the dragon, I've set up two folders in the "xml" section called "Slow Dragon" and "Fast Dragon" -- the first being the original one and the second being Acheron with an "imoves" value of "3" (the standard speed for dragons). If you want to take this action, you must edit the "CIV4UnitsInfo.xml" file, the "UNITCLASS_ACHERON" section, and the "imoves" value. You do NO want that fast dragon at the start of the game as Acheron can do serious damage to your civilization and leave the Hoard pretty much unprotected. I always wait to copy in the "Fast Dragon" after I've actually captured him.

AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN ADEPT, MAGE, OR CONJURER WITH THE "COURAGE" PROMOTION (requires "Spirit" mana); otherwise, all your efforts are in vain since your units will NOT attack the dragon.

Anyway, take this for whatever it is worth to you...

btw i had the same problem
let me ask you did you d/l the mod from gameflood useing the gamersflood d/l manager? i so you only installed the patch and not the real deal

uninstall the d/l manager and download the mod the traditional way install it in the proper folder then do the patch other than that i dont know .. but check the proper instalation thread because hes answering those issues

If you go to war with him first you can. Thats really your only option.

(Unless you want to wait for my modmod, where I plan to make an SDK change that allows HN units to capture units but not enter/capture rivals cities. In that case, you could go Esus and get an Esus Beastmaster, who can cast mask to become HN and then capture the friendly dragon. It could be a while, since I won't start until Kael releases the SDK for patch n or later, and it is unlikely that he will do so in time for me to do it over spring break. I'm not sure when I'll find the time.)
 
OH didn't realize I could declare war on the barbarians. I suppose I will do that.
