[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

War Chicken, your problem is that you need reagents to get archmages.

Another Question: What were the needs again to found "Cult of the Dragon"?
The cult of the dragon (cotd) is automatically founded in whichever city you build Eurebates in. (or if the sheiam build Abashi first, they get to found the cotd)
And something more: Someone in my game has built that ritual, that kills all farms and creates deserts. From that turn on, the delay between the turns ist about 10 times as long as before. Is that normal? Can I do something against it?
1. That "ritual" is the effect when the armegeddon counter reaches 40.
2. Don't know about the turn slowing. Was Hyborem just summoned?

Have you saved, quit, are restarted? That might help, maybe the event used up most of your computers memory.

War Chicken, you need to have a good computer to play civilization, I recommanded a 4.0 GHz CPU speed of a AMD processor, 2 GB RAM, and a better video card like a ATI Radeon X1800.

my specs are a 3.00 GHz Intel pentium 4 processor, 1 GB RAM, and ATI Radeon X600 w/256.0 MB Hyperthread memory.

if he's played other games and its never been that slow i doubt its his stats really, would have shown up earlier.

Hi. That's what I first thougt. I even restarted my whole PC, after a rstart of civ didn't bring a speedup. Didn't help. Maybe Grey Fox was right with the Sleeping AI Workers. I can't imagine it another way.

I dont have SUCH a Machine, but mine isn't bad. I've got a 3 GHz with Radeon X800 and 1,5GB RAM. I therefor haven't put the graphic options on maximum, and it mostly ran quite smooth. What made me wonder is, that it was from one turn on - never had this before.

@All
Thank you for the support, unfortunately the Problem has got "solved" by itself. I played with locked assets, and was dumb enough to install the new patch in the middle of the Game :wallbash:
So I had to start a new game.

You don't really need high systemspecs to run civ4. That's nonsense. I run civ with a Radeon 9550, an Athlon XP 2000 and some 750 MB Ram. As long I don't go beyond standard maps everything is fine no matter what graphicsettings I use(that' why I use maximum settings here). With Kael's Speedmod even large maps got almost playable for me -> the bigger the map and the more units there are on it the slower civ is(mainly because of the AI considering what to do with the units not the modelfiles themselves). Compared to other games(like most newer RTS games) gfx of civ need ridiculously low system ressources. You don't need a good gfx card for it just a good cpu can be an advantage if you want to play huge maps.

Edit:
So my advice to you War Chicken is. Set the graphicsettings to max and enjoy the artwork!

well first off i wanna say excellent job to the entire team behind this, it is by far the greatest pc game ive ever played. youve managed to take a complex game such as civ iv and make it into an even more complex and deep time consuming game that doesnt allow you to just stop at a scheduled time, im sure you all know what i mean, lol.

i was playin it for a while when ice (the first phase i believe, correct me if im wrong) was in the .16j phase but then ended up playing a months of WoW for a change of pace and i come back to fire and its even more complex than ever, lol.

my question.....my game crashes at random spots for some reason, after the first two crashes i went into the folders and changed the "assets" folder to "customassets.old" because i remember having to do that from before, but it still crashed. any ideas what it may be?

and another thing i noticed too is Orthos (spellin?). he came stompin into my lands not long after he came into play, i had a stack of warriors in the closest city but as you can assume he was able to wipe those out until he finally ran over my city. he then went and conquered another of my cities, which is fine because at that time i was sending in a stack of pyre zombies...anyways, sorry if ive been rambling but with my stack of zombies right next to Orthus i saw that my combat odds were 0.2% and i attacked anyways for the hell of it plus zombies will blow up and do more damage to him anyways......well....that one zombie kicked his a** and i got his axe.
was there somethin wrong with the combat odds or did i just get INCREDIBLY lucky?

Did you play on chieftain/settler difficulty? On those low levels you are guaranteed your first battle against the barbarians to be a victory.

sweet, no wonder i killed him then. i was playin on chieftan, which i normally do because i dont like it when the AI gets unfair advantages and im not really that great to begin with

im one who likes to build a lot in his cities before creating my massive army and conquerin the world and on harder difficulties the AI isnt quite as tolerant of letting me do so.

maybe next game ill send in a raven and peck his eyes out, lol

k, just loaded the game i started last night and within the third turn it crashed again. any ideas as to what may be causing these random crashes?

No, Im not sure. Make sure you have the latest patch.

If the crash is reproducable (it always crashes on a given turn) get a svae right before the crash, attach it and I will check it out.

Thanks!

2 022, is that the latest patch? i just downloaded it a couple days ago so im assuming it gave me the latest one
