[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

I REALLY want to play, but I cannot!

I crash consistantly every time I end the first turn.

This is the order I installed everything:

Civ4
Beyond the sword
Beyond the sword patch(whatever the most recent one is)
Fall from heaven 2
Fall from heaven 2 media pack
Fall from heaven 2 patch e

So it seems all is well insofar as that. I really want to play I have no idea what is causing the crashes, any thoughts?

That is a very weird symptom. Ive had players crash when the map loads (thats if you dont have BtS patch 3.13 installed). But I haven't seen it crash when you end the first turn.

I would turn on python exceptions as detailed in the "Reporting Issues" section of the first post in this thread: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=268320 to see if you are getting any errors. If oyu are then let me know what those are and I can check it out. Otherwise try to take a save game before you end the turn and attach it and I will try to see if I can see anything weird about it.
 
Lovin' the new version!! Every release is fantastic! No probliematic CtDs to reports.

What do I need in order to have the Wonders vids play in game? I have Bink installed and can watch the vids out of game, but in game the vids are pixelated mess but music plays.

You don't.

Adventurers are a type of great person, just like great prophets, sages, merchants, barbs, and commanders. It just so happens that the only sources of this type of GPP are Grigori UBs (including the palace). Like with any great person, you can see how many turns you will have to wait and the chances of getting each type when you mouseover the GPP bar in the city screen. The Grogiri world spell can also help you get more adventurers, by setting the threshold for the next great person back to 0 while letting you keep the points themselves.

An adventurer doesn't have any of the abilities of other great people, but it does have the hero promotion and can upgrade to an adept, warrior, or scout (and any unit these can upgrade to, which includes basically all arcane, melee, recon, or mounted unit)

(I'm my version adventurers can also be settled to give a local legend specialist that generates a little culture and adventurer GPP plus provides 1 xp. Grigori heroes also have a spell that lets them revert to adventurers (with all their promotions, xp, and level) so you can settle them later or choose a different upgrade path if you want)

When I click on the espionage button in the game, it lists scenarios. How do I actually play any of them? Mechanically, how do I load up the first one-grand menagerie?

You don't. They don't exist yet.

Actually, I think that a couple of them exist in an early form, but not in the publicly released version. The plan for FfH always consisted of 4 development phases:
Light - .11 to .16
Fire - .20 to .23 (.24 and .25 might count too, but these BtS-conversion lack some fire features and have a few Shadow ones)
Shadow - .30 onward (so far). No one knows how many Shadow versions there will be (probably 4 or 5, I'd guess), but when Shadow is done then the mod itself is also really done;
Ice will consist solely of scenarios built of of the final shadow version. (I'll probably keep trying to convince Kael to add more features though, and modmoding will probably become even more common)
 
The writing for this mod is incredible, the stories associated with some of the units and civilizations are very compelling, it makes me want to know more!

How do you advance through eras, what are the neccesary techs for each?

Also, what is the mechanic by which forests become ancient forests?

I am total newbie here, playing FftH for 2 weeks maybe, but dont u need Warlords datadisk too?? i have it installed and FftH works perfect for me

You don't advance through eras. Mainly the religions are different eras which enables different graphic styles for each religion.

Nope, you don't need Warlords. I don't have it and FfH works like a charm for me as well.
 
as I have been absent for ages, I am wondering how far progress have gone here in Fall from Heaven 2, I also want to say that Arcana has released a new album, and it's called Respail.

Is adaptive turned off right now? If not, how do you select your free trait? Oh yeah and also is the Stongehenge (Letern Frigus?) active? Or just scenery currently?

Kindof a dumb question I know. I *thought* I had uploaded the latest version (.31) and patch (e). But on the main menu page when you first boot up the game (with a picture of a scary Hyborem-type demon), up in the right hand corner it (still) says version 030. Shouldn't it say 031 if I have the right version installed (or does it say that for everyone and it just wasn't updated)?
