Mod Ideas:Civilization 5: Colonies Lost To Time

I mean, in your design the Unique GG generates culture from kills. I thought it has its own combat strength.

The Keizer still has his own combat strength like a normal GG, but he doesn't provide any big bonus during combat, just wanted clear up the confusion

Ordinary GGs don't have combat strength, though. They're civilian units just like workers or settlers.

Well I checked the civpedia and its true, but it really doesn't matter. Either way its the same as a GG. However the confusion is they produce culture on kill when escorted with units :p.

Update
After a few days of inactivity, I have been considering producing some of these mods, as I have gotten a hold on Kaels Guide and other sources, civ 5 modding is pretty hard but I still need some time, thought, and investment.

Start with Indochina! Though reforms are probably a good idea... :p

Update:
Its official!!! I will produce these civs in 2016-2017, thanks to who ever donated or contributed to the site, and production of these civs will start sometime next year!!!

Is that a Tiger? looks more like Leopard.

Also... sweet spring... in the winter solstice.

Just Southern Hemisphere Things

Well I just came back from the supposodely island Republic of Cuba, an interesting place with a government thats somewhat corrupt and dictatorial with little to do outside of its Touristic hotels so I've comtemplated a colonial design for them as the effort is questionable, besides its disturbing watching a bunch tourists with shirts of Che.

A Southern Rhodesia would be great!
While it would be great, Rhodesia has already been done by RawSasquatch led by the peliforous Ian Smith here is a link to it on steam he truly did a fantastic job and is the inspiration for this thread, although I want to implement some more synergistic designs with my first two civs

French Indochina
Jean Decoux
UA: Grand Federal Council
Social Policy cost are reduced by 10% during :c5war: War, Naval Units yield +1 :c5culture: Culture when garrisoned in Enemy Territory, earn a small sum of :c5culture: Culture when converting captured Civillian Units
UU: Aviso (Battleship)
Weaker yet cheaper than the Unit it replaces, gains +2 :c5moves: Movement and ignores Enemy Zone Of Control, starts off with Boarding Party I.
UU: Far Eastern Expeditionary Force (Rifleman)
Stronger yet more Expensive than the Unit it replaces, it starts of with Cover I and does not suffer terrain penalties in Rough Terrain, generates :c5culture: Culture when garrisoned in :c5occupied: Occupied territory
Nyasaland Protectorate
Alfred Sharpe
UA: Heart of Africa
Yield an additional +1 :c5gold: Gold from all resources of Gems, Gold, Silver, and Copper, Mines working luxury resources yield an additional +1 :c5production: Production, cost to purchase tiles that yield aforementioned resources are reduced by 50%
UU: King's African Rifles (Rifleman)
Slightly weaker than the Unit it replaces, it gains +1 :c5moves: Movement in Desert tiles and may use Enemy Roads
UB: Mining Outpost (Barracks)
In addition to the regular experience granted to units, 5% of your :c5production: Production yield contributes to :c5gold: Gold and increases Border Growth by 10%
I'm quite happy with these designs as they're much less complicated and a bit more appealing, I would like some feedback as I'm currently working up the money to buy G&K expansion as some assets from that DLC is nessecary to complete some of my Mods, although I'm questioning codewise if they are possible and if anybody has made progress on the icons.

Hooray! I love when non-Cubans talk about Cuba being a sack of crap because it truly is. Fun fact: Not sure if this has changed, but at least when my family lived in Cuba, Cubans were not allowed to stay at the hotels or visit certain beaches which were exclusively for tourists and foreigners. The only exception of which I know of is when you got married and you were given a hotel room for a couple of days to enjoy your marriage. However, you are not allowed to select which hotel. You are also unable to select what kind of cake you want for your wedding and the wife is not allowed to select what dress she wishes the wear. The Cuban government just gives you whatever the hell it feels like giving you and you have to do it back once you're done. Also, on the topic of foreigners, Cubans caught owning US dollars used to be sentenced to 3 years in prison. Also, Che is a disgusting, mass murdering adventurer. I cannot fathom why anyone could possibly have any respect for such a despicable fiend except for his final words "Go ahead kill me, you're only killing a man" which admittedly is pretty badass.

Anyway, I digress from my anti-Communist rant. If you are planning to do a colonial era Cuba I would be very interested in assisting. I love that aspect my ancestral homeland,(I don't call Cuba my country since I wasn't born there, nor have I ever set foot there, nor do I ever plan to as long as Communism and Authoritarianism exist on the island) the culture, the history, the true heroes who fought for independence and the abolition of slavery. I would suggest Jose Marti as the leader of the civ. He's the most well respected and renowned of Cuba's revolutionaries alongside Carlos Manuel de Cespedes (who I'm actually distantly related to). Anyway, let me know whenever and whatever you're planning for Cuba so I can help out.

I'll post feedback on your designs later.

While this is seperate from Colonies Lost to Time, this is one project that does actually spark interest and I'm entirely open to doing a collab once I have the appropriate resources to do so (You cant Mod on Mac :()
Revolutionary Cuba
Maximo Gomez
UA: A Havanerian Rebellion
All Military Units gain an additional 15% Experience from defeating Enemy Units, During :c5war: War Units cost no maitnence, Walls are ineffective against Sieging Units
UU: Mambises (Musketman)
Slightly weaker yet cheaper than the Unit it replaces, upon capturing a Civilian Unit it spawns a duplicate of itself, it gains the unique promotion "Machete Charge" after attacking an Enemy Unit it takes attrition damage.
UGP: Assistente de Campo (Great General)
In addition to the effects of a Great General, Assistente's heal adjacent Units by 5 Damage and gain a defensive bonus against Cities
Feedback on these designs would be nice, however Cuba is merely a draft.

French Indochina:

For the UA I'm assuming you mean when ending their turn in enemy territory as opposed to garrisoned in enemy territory. I'm also not sure what you mean by "converting" civilian units. The units seem to be alright, although I think more synergy should be present in the design. My immediate thought is instead of naval units getting culture when ending in enemy territory would be them getting culture whenever moving in enemy territory because then the ship's +2 movement and ignoring ZOC would be more useful.

Nyasaland:

The UA looks nice although I don't think the tile purchasing part is possible. King's African Rifles are going to be used in Our World's Kenya btw. For the UB, 5% and 10% look rather low to me. I think there's potential here too though. Just like the other one more synergy would be great.

Cuba:

15% is pretty low for an XP boost considering that Shaka gets like 50% IIRC. Units costing no maintenance during war is a nice idea, perhaps too strong, but one that I like. Siege units ignoring walls sounds really strong too and weird since our 3 independence wars were pretty much about guerrilla warfare. The Mambi is the perfect unit for a revolutionary Cuba, I was kind of surprised that Leugi's didn't have it. I would suggest making it a Rifleman or Cavalry replacement though. Rifles existed when our wars were going on and some Mambises rode cavalry also. The first machete armed cavalry charge was done by Cubans and I believe there's a Civ 4 model for them. The Mambi honestly is kind of weird since most of them fought with machetes instead of guns though. I like the duplication idea, not sure if it's possible though. I like the idea of the Machete Charge causing additional damage, those things are scary, trust me. Assistente de Campo is weak in my opinion. I also don't like it. It's very generic, any Spanish army had assistentes de campo because it just means Aide-de-Camp in Spanish, and it doesn't feel very Cuban in my opinion. Another unit or building would be better. Of course this is a draft so it needs a lot of work. I'll think of a design and see what you think of it.

I see those ideas.... Makes me what to do some research myself. Though, you know, Legui already made Cuba, and colonialists legacies are planing to as well.... Make sure its not too similar.
