I've been everywhere, man
This is a project I've been working on for the last few months. The goal of the project was to add a great deal of unit diversity to the later eras (pre-industrial through modern) in the same way that Rabbit, White's Ethnic Diversity mod has.

So far it incorperates nearly all of my units, all of the Ethnic Units Mod, as well as all of the modern aircraft/armor/ and infantry units from other creaters; most notable Sharick and Nautil. So far well over 100 new units have been added. All added units have appropriate civilopedia entries, descriptions, and buttons.

In order to best balance the flood of new late-era units, I created several new classes of aircraft, armor and ships. I desperately need testers to help me make sure that all of the gameplay changes are ballanced correctly and make sence. I've been able to do some basic testing myself, but it's been mostly focussed around making sure the new graphics work well together.

I see this as an ongoing project to create a base of units that don't greatly effect gameplay from the stock Civ4 and Warlords games. Ultimately I would like to see this come to the point where people wanting to create a mod don't have to dig through pages of unit posts to find what they want or add them into their XML. Instead they would use this mod as a base for their further XML, python, or SDK changes. It would also ensure that the units are added correctly, with the proper animations, scale, and a good amount of historical accuracy.

All that said, here are some previews of the units included in the mod:

Early Tanks:

Early Armored Cars:

Light Tanks:

Medium Tanks:

Heavy Tanks:

Tank Destroyers/Mobile Artillery

Armor & Modern Armor:

Modern Infantry Vehicles:

Early Aircraft:

Fighters:

Fighter-Bombers:

Bombers:

Modern Aircraft:

Warships:

Nuclear Submarines:

[Please note that the units shown are not shown in the same scale in the previews. In the game, they are all scaled correctly]

Some units not shown in the previews, but that are included are:

-Revised FT17, w/ a reduced polycount and in 3 versions; French, US, and Spanish (Early Tank Class)
-T55A1 (Armor Class)
-M60A2 (Armor Class)
-DDG-1000 (Future/Modern Destroyer)
-Balloon (By Chamaedrys)
-Mig 21 replaced by Su 27/37 By Nautil
-Stug3B tank destroyer (By Asioasioasio)
-Many new units from Vanilla- and Warlords- Scenarios

Units included that have not previously been released that are (or will be) included:

-US 'Brooklyn' Class Cruiser
-German Z-Class Destroyer
-US 'Liberty' Cargo Ship (replaces transport)
-Japanese 'Kagero' Class Destroyer
-French 'Dunkerque' Class Battleship
-US M4A3 'Sherman' Medium Tank
-Soviet T55A1 Armor
-US M60A3 Armor
-British Rolls Royce WW1 Armored Car
-Clipper Ship
-DDG-1000 Modern/Future US Destroyer

So, any takers for testing? Please PM me if you are interested in testing. The only requirement is that you have Warlords, as at the moment that's the version that is farthest along. Don't worry, in time a vanilla version will be released for everyone who doesn't have Warlords.

For anyone who also wants to help out in general, with suggestions, unit graphics, or anything, post here or PM me.

Also, please let me know of any released units that I should include. I know there are more out there that I missed!

WOW, WoW, wOw.
Impressive.

Too bad I don't have more time to contribute some new units.

btw. this position is reserved for woodelf ;)

very interesting to see and waiting for new units !

p.s. i really hope u make something different so need to compare with my mod. otherway there is no reasons to make two mods with the same units, right? ;)

It's very different from your mod, trust me! Right now it has no new technologies or other game play changes. The units are also buildable in the standard way (meaning no specific technology is required to construct them).

It will, as I mentioned, have many more units than even your awesome mod, since none of my units will be released seperately from it. The only reason for that is that many of my older units as well as most of my new ones have custom sounds, which are a bit more work to add to a game. People seem to have enough trouble sometimes w/ adding a simple unit to the game, I'd hate to imagine how they'd deal w/ the new sounds (it's not any more difficult, just more work and more places to make a mistake).

Any more testers? Without testers, it will take much longer to get this out to the public!

new sounds are very good idea! i've never been doing this and i really hope this will add to u mod more "good looking" sense.

i'm still upgrading my mod with ur units :))) i think the amound of units should be absolutely the same if i take all of urs and u will take all of mines ( 1+3 or 3+1 is 4 :)))) but this is not so important who takes units and who doesn't. the mod should be very balanced as scenarios for it. i was working on balancing more then 4 months. sure u going to work on it too and i hope u will do it good ;)

Of course! I mearly ment the time between releases when you've yet to update maxriga mod to include the newer units. I should have been more specific...

More testers are needed!!!

Just finished the M7B1 Priest up tonight. Custom animations/sounds. Yes, the gunner and driver in it are aninated as well!

I am one of those people qho have difficulty adding untis to the game.

But I must say your units have always been amazing and this particular one with animated gunner abd driver must look fantastic.

I love the older WWI units smitty. All are awesome, but those really look da BOMB. :D

Any chance of somebody adding a flame to one of the tanks and giving it a bonus against infantry. Flame-throwing tanks were important in the Pacific. Also a flame-throwing infantry would be an interesting and historically accurate unit to have in a mod like this. I used to have flame-throwing infantry which I put at combustion, and then I put the Churchill Crocodile at the same place as it looked very WW1.

It's possible I can add a flame-throwing tank, though more likely an infantryman w/ a flamethrower. It would have a bonus vs. machineguns.

On a different note, look for this to come out sometime Sunday.

Can you tell us which version/expansion this mod is built for, Snafusmith?

Warlords v2.08. Originally it was planned for vanilla as well, but I've since decided to make it for Warlords only. It's possible I'll port it over sometime down the road, but not right away.

No need for me, since I have the 2.08 patch installed and all. ;)
Let's see what pops up tomorrow here. :goodjob:

Your units looks great, and I've downloaded a few of them already. Some of these I see that I need, so I can't wait for you to release this.

A few units I need for a mod I'm working on, might you have any of these on a working list?

- C-47 Dakota air transport

- WWI British 'Mark-series' tank (Where do I find this? I understand it's on the Firaxis CD somewhere)

- Paratroop Infantry - thinking Infantry with additional pack on chest, camo net over helmet etc.

- UH-1 Huey helicopter transport

- Cruiser (your Brooklyn-class ship is just the ticket)

- Medic - thinking Infantry with Red Cross embles on helmet and armbands

- Recon - WW2 german SdKfz 23-234 series vehicle

- Battering Ram
