This is probably the wrong forum, but how can I use mod packs or use maps on my civilization 3 game?

I hope this is not a stupid question!:)

There should be a read-me file with downloads that tells you where to put the files. For maps put them in the scenarios folder. Then when starting a new game choose the 'load scenario' option to play on that map. Mods overwrite your mod.bic file and changes the rules for all games you play so whenever you choose a new random map you will be playing by the mod's edited rules. SAVE A COPY OF THE ORIGINAL MOD.BIC file!! in case you don't like the mod or the mod crashes your game you can easily switch back to normal game rules and not have to re-install civ3. Some maps are actually mods, so read about the map (and the readme) carefully. For mods just put them in your civ3 folder. Graphics you would want to make sure you put them in the correct folder that they correspond to and these should be listed in the readme file. Even when just changing graphics you should save a backup of the original just in case.
