Strange, I cant get the mod to work proper. When I load the mod I come into the game but all text are missing from the startmeny, got into the mod /I know the buttons by memory) and the problem continues there, no text at all but other grapifx work ok.

Never had any problems before with alots of other mods. Anyone know a solution?

Maybe this helps.
I had the same problem with a other mod.
The solution was to install the correct Civ4-patch.(mod needs 1.52, i had installed 1.61)

Guys,

It is really not that hard. Please read the first page!!!!!
This mod (1.00 and 1.09) is NOT yet 1.61 compatible. You need 1.52 patch.

Houman

Do you know how to solve my problem? Or is it normal in this mod that i have to wait so long for my next turn? It really sucks to make a turn and then to have to wait at least twice as long for the next turn.

At first, you might want to tell us your system specs. :mischief:

A few steps you can make:

In the CivilizationIV.ini (or CivConfig) search for a term called "MemSaver", enable it by setting it to 1. (However, keep in mind that ALT-TABBING will no longer function!)

Lower your graphic details in the options menu (it should turn everything to low, which is fine).

DO NOT install the Regiment Patch, provided seperately with the mod.

---
The waiting for the next turn is still long but should be reduced by now.

Instead of those icons for hammers, food etc there are symbols which looks like zeros. This is not unique for this mod and happens with other mods and its becoming frustrating since im the only one complaining about it.

Does anyone got any clue what my problem may be?

Athlon XP 2600+
1536 MB RAM
Radeon X850

But i dont have problems when playing without the mod.
I played huge maps, with all civs, just the regiments mod, all graphics settings high and AAx4, and there was no long waiting for next turn till the end of the game.

Regiments is very important for me.
Regiments was the main-reason for choosing the realism-mod.
Its the only one which have integrated the regiments mod.
(I know i can merge mods by myself but at the moment i want to play and not learn how to merge mods correctly.)
But i remove the regiments-mod for a test.
The other tips i try too.

I let you know the results.

Thx!

Unless you have a CIA machine built by NASA, you won't be able you use the Realism Mod with the Regiment Mod Option. :)

Realism Mod has 18 Civs + huge amount of Barbarians that act themselves as normal Civilization. The Regiment Mod multiplies the Units x 3. Now imagine how much the computer has to calculate?

Even 2 GB of RAM won't be enough. Maybe it is possible to play without waiting with 4 Ghz CPUs and 4 GB RAM.

- Deinstall your Game
- Delete the Civ Folder
- Delete the Civ folder underneath your Documents & Settings/my Games
- Reinstall the Game
- Install Patch 1.52
- Install the Mod 1.0 underneath the Civ4/Mods folder
- Install Mod Patch 1.09 underneath the Civ4/Mods/Realism folder

Enjoy the game!

@Jeppson - Also Delete your cache that is in located in C:\Documents and Settings\"YOUR USERNAME"\Application Data\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\cache

@Drogear - Are you using the 1.61 Patch? I had that happen when I tried it out. This is not yet compatible with the latest patch read the first page for instruction on how to make a dual install so you can use this MOD and eat your cake too. :)

@canicula23 - I too want to use the regiment Mod but even with my system which is AMD 3500+, 2GB PC3200 RAM, BFG 6600GT OC I can't run it with out unbearably long wait times.

Ok for those of you who do not have the 1.52 patch well it is too big to put here but i have uploaded it to the MOD folder on Source Forge. Now it is pretty big at 44MB so I don't know if Houman will add it to the next patch or keep it separate but for now you can get it from there.

I'm quite sure I saw somewhere similar suggestion, but i will ask once again;)
Is it possible to make number of units builded in the same time depended on amount of required resources. Building 10 battleships with only one source of iron isn't really realistic.

Problem with that, for example, there is only a few iron resources on a small map, now what happens when the resources arent permanent and by 500AD all iron is exhausted? You have a less fun game. No medieval wars, just archers. Gunpowder units come and then the saltpeter is exhausted. Cycle repeats.

For all those modern era civ gamers, unhappiness will seriously set in if all oil resources dry up after a few wars. Though, given the world oil situation, i dont think we'll be able to joke about this in a few years.

New patch is great, been trying it downscale and am finding it even more satisfying. Though Houman some units arent quite right. Crusaders are far too tall, taller than a mounted conquistador or knight, and informants are also huge. Maybe civs are bribing large circus people to spy for them?

I don't sure if we understand each other(my english could be much better:blush: ), so i will try explaint that another way.

You have 20 cities and 2 source of saltpeter. Now you can build gunpowder untis in every your city. In my opinion, you should be able to build them only in some of them(let it be 4). If you want to build more, you will have to find another source of saltpeter. I don't want to make resources exhausted after some units have been build. But i think nations can't be building to many units at the same time, with only one or two source of resource.

Hello guys,

A short message before watching the French Soccer League Final on TV, with a beer and pizza of course.
There are still some script errors.
a) "TXT_KEY_BUILDING_ZOROASTRIAN_TEMPLE" when you build a temple of this religion.
b) In victory conditions, ONU resolutions, you can find many things such as: "TXT_KEY_VOTE_POLICE_STATE". Nearly 80% are like that.

I'm playing with the mod 1.00 and patch 1.09.
Even with my weak computer, it seems to not crash. Video problems seems to have gone away.

Other news that night.

This would be very realistic. Indeed I wished that would be possible with Oil, to make Oil more important as it is in real. However due the Game limitations this won't be possible. :(

Oh..thats because...we forgot to downscale those units properly then. :) Thanks for pointing it out?

P.S. Do you really like the downscaling so much? It looks more realistic, but the units are kind of small even when realistic.. :mischief:

This is still hapening with 1.09??? Have you extracted the files from 1.09 patch in the Mods folder or in Realism folder?

It is because I have built myself a Zoroastrian Temple and the message was alright...weird. Where exactly did this message pop up? At top left screen?

Thanks
Houman

@All,

The pink color after all the Generals have been found out is still in 1.09. The problem can only be solved after we upgrade to GeneralMod 2.0. However the 2.0 is only compatible with 1.61 patch. So you have to wait until we are finished with the next major patch...

Can mods such as this play on the huge earth 180x67 maps made by switches or aeric67, or does it come with a huge real earth map of its own?

Yes, i had extract them. But it's also possible that i made a mistake.
I will try to explain what happen. Not easy with my lack of vocabulary.
It was not a message or a pop-up but what was written in the list of what i can build in a city. Instead of "Zoroastrian Temple", i saw the sentence i wrote before.

I just want to say an other thing. My friends and I, all Frenchmen and old privates and/or sergeants of the French Army (1er Regiment de Cuirassiers (Heavy Tank "Leclerc") of the 1st Armoured Brigade), were disappointed by the choice of the second French UU. We would rather saw the "Frankish Axemen" :) of the Frankish Tribes that invaded Gauls or the small tank "Renault FT-17" :D of WW1. You could also use the "Foreign Legion".:D :D

I re-install the patch to confirm...

Thx.
