[mod] TOTAL REALISM 2.0

Still
@ Kaiser Franz

1) There might be something that obsolates Great Wall and hence barbs in city. But great wall in 100 turn ? Did you rushed monarchy ? As thats what is needed for great wall along with masonary.

Another thing is that it was mentioned that Mexico is working on spliting barbarians into two "civilizations". One that spawns and builds cities, and the other one that are slaves. This way if slave rebelion will take place in barb cities, slave rebels will fight barbarians not join them... This also might be it, as Great Wall protects you from barbs not rebelling slaves.

And another thing is Bug, gonna copy/paste your post to bugs, but please tell me if this is in Pre-Gold please.

2) XML says this:
<UnitClassUpgrades>
<UnitClassUpgrade>
<UnitClassUpgradeType>UNITCLASS_RIFLEMAN</UnitClassUpgradeType>
<bUnitClassUpgrade>1</bUnitClassUpgrade>
</UnitClassUpgrade>
<UnitClassUpgrade>
<UnitClassUpgradeType>UNITCLASS_GRENADIER</UnitClassUpgradeType>
<bUnitClassUpgrade>1</bUnitClassUpgrade>
</UnitClassUpgrade>
</UnitClassUpgrades>
This clearelly indicates that Crusaders are upgredable to both rifleman and grenadier witch is replaced by prussian grenadier for germany.

Anaztazioch -- Thank you for the information on "brotherhood" -- it's very interesting but obviously a "young man's game" -- I am older than water and would not do well in your games :)

Also, thank you for the information on Crusader Upgrade -- you are right - I checked the XML for TR_Meele and sure enough, at the very bottom I found the upgrade information. It appears that the Civopedia is wrong on the "pop-up" when getting ready to build a Crusader - that is where it says they are "very strong but not upgradeable".

Now - one suggestion for the final release -- when it appears, in the upper left of the screen - "slaves is now free" -- that should be changed to "slaves ARE now free" -- "is" means one -- "are" means more than one -- just a little English correction :)

Ok - as far as the Great Wall is concerned -- I check my log and I built it in 890 BC -- what I usually do is devote 100% to Science at the early stages of the game -- this involves managing my money very carefully as I am usually on the verge of bankruptcy <sigh>

The way I do that is by sacrifycing city growth and development at the beginning -- I build meele units on cities that are the closest to the enemy - then I look for the weakest civilization near me and try to take them over very quickly - before they get strong. Since I allways play Germany I attack Alaxander, Julious Ceaser, Napolion, Isabella, in that order. Stack attack is the best for my way of playing -- one on one doesn't work -- odds are like 13.4 % or something like that - but with my stack attack it is usually 82% or more -- I like those odds :) - Meanwhile - my "interior cities" -- away from the front line -- those are producing wealth for several turns - just so I can afford the hatefull "red - loosing money every turn" indicator. As soon as I discover another science technology - I produce units very rapidly and then just repeat the process of 100% science while I go destroy another small civilization. Yes, I know I'm being a bully - not letting others grow - but I believe in killing them off before they get strong.

You are probably right about Great Wall -- it is probably obsolete in my current game - I'll look into that -- I don't think a slave rebelion is responsible but I'll look into that also -- have to check the logs to see if I can find anything. I usually swith over to my other computer while the AI moves -- takes to long and I have other things I can be doing during that time - so I'm not allways sure what happened while I was away :)

Hmm. Mexico's fault oprimazing code i think. Will inform him (done).

And Kaiser Franz, we have 48 year old (oldest) brother and i can tell hes one hell of a knight and i know there are older.

Ok - here is a minor "bug report" -- I'm sure I should be posting this somewhere else but I don't know where.

The "Freikorps" isn't working -- it causes the game screen to go black and then the game shuts down and I find myself looking at the windows screen.

I have just researched "Rifeling" and tried to select Freikorps to build from the pop up "build" window - end of game right there.

Next I found one of my Musketmen and upgraded him - no problem.

After that I went to the city window and tried to tell the city to build a Friekorps by selecting that button -- same issue as in the pop up window -- system immediately crashes with no explination.

My completly unenlightened conclusion is that the crash has something to do with the "select to build" process and not with the "upgrade" from an older and obsolete unit.

I'm sorry that I can't be more specific regarding the bug - I''m simply not the "sharpest knife in the drawer" when it comes to computers :)

Can you post all changes ? As i dont want to have something that i dont know what it does.

Powerfull ninja why ? Yes they can fight, but thats not their job if thats what you mean. Ninja should be as strong as Assassin, with minor differances, and thats it.

Resarched Bronze Working and still no crash. Would play longer but im a racist ;=QUOTE]

LOL did it again only with the Zulus ..no trouble with Japanese or Incas

On another note in a previous post i seen somtign about the "you have captured a slave" message or rather gettign spammed by this message .. didi a quick scan back every time any nation captures a slave that message pops up not game stopping but i really dislike spam eheh....

peasant revolts are worse than slave revolts <dont seem to occur as often thou thankfully >

"you have captured a slave" fixed in same day as pre-gold was released.

slaves are slaves. Untained usually (exept gladiators) equipped with mostly tools given by their master, no weapons or armor as they could not buy it becouse they were watched by slavemasters (still can steal something) and no one would sell anything to a slave. Now as for peasants, in Japan they were allowed to posses weapons till late 1580s when Hideyoshi Toyotomi disamrmed all peasants and allowed only samurai class to posess weapon.
In Europe (atleast in Poland) peasants were often used as army. Unarmored equipped mostly with farming tools were actually quite effective, as well as peasants could have wepaons, only thing that stand on their way is money.

First and foremost... this is BEAUTIFUL. I may just have to marry this mod :-D

I was slightly confused, however... on the first page it says that a new warlords version is expected mid december... is that the pre-gold version that's already been released or should I be looking forward to a complete warlords version in the next couple of weeks?

The version you have played from page 1 here is still the vanilla Total Realism for 1.61. The new Pre-Gold version is in the main project folder. Since it is still beta it is not meant to be really public. And I can tell you this if you liked the vanilla version, then be prepared for a new experience when you play the coming Warlord version, a lot has been done!!!

The Warlord: Total Realism Gold is coming this Saturday. No matter what happens, since we all are going to XMas and it should get released!

Regards
Houman
