[mod] TOTAL REALISM 2.0

Hello Mexico -- it's no problem -- I do have a back up of Beta 4 -- but I started thinking - I've already won my game - so far ahead that no one could catch up -- I'll just start a new on in pre-gold and everything will be fine.

I suppose I should start reading the previous threads :)

But they dont look as good as the ones we have atm :(

PS: can some one please tell me why the f* Napoleon allways declares early war in WorldMap AND allways his civ gets DESTROYED ?!? Exept vs England as sea makes it hard... SO annoying... i allways like to kill off their meketeers...
 
Anaztazioch -- I know Mexico is not from Mexico -- he lives just near you -- relatively speaking when you compare distances in the United States -- Slovakia is just south of Poland -- I'll be there in June of 2007 for a little vacation - I usually make it to Europe two or three times a year - I was in Bratislava (Pressburg ) just this last June -- he's east of there :)

By the way - the new Beta 5 is working fine - I haven't spoted the changes yet because the game just started - I'm only on turn 75 - but everything is working just fine so far.
 
I have been out of the loop lately (moved).
Is there going to be an upgrades to Civ 4 Total Realism? I don't have Warlords.

Did you did not notice new wonders ? Mostly the Mysticism one. And allready fixed (due to hot-patch) "you have captured a slave" scrolling messages at end of nearelly every turn ?

Till the release of WTR Gold (24th dec is a "schedule") no upgrades for TR will be made. But after Gold ? Even God doesnt know (busy playing this mod, last time i wanted to contact him, his secretary said "he has a very importand matter to attend")
 
Anaztazioch -- Yes - I've noticed that I am capturing a lot of slaves - still haven't figured out who is doing the capturing and where the slaves are going. :( I think I'm missing something but I'm not even sure what to look for. No new workers seem to be appearing and I see no evidence that any of my military is out rounding up slaves - no battles show up -- hmmm -- maybe I had better check the event log - that might get me back on track -- let you know tomorrow - it's after midnight here -- I'm a Civ Addict <sigh>

I said it allready fixed havent I ? Hot-Patch is not included in installer (as this will require Mexico to upload whole file again).
These messages come from AI capturing slaves and you recive it (only messages) or atleast im aware of such a thing.

There a bug sector in "Total Realism forum page". Page 13 post #248 theres instruction of installing the patch as well as link to it.

"Realism" Mod made by Jaynus is a fundament of "Total Realism". It was abandoned project by its creator. Kristine did revive that project under the name of "Realism: Resurrection", only for it to die a month later.
It was than Houman had revived it again under name of "Realism: The Third Resurrection" (i know i played this mod for like 2 months before Total Realism). Houman almost dumped that project, becouse he know only how to edit XML if im right, but no python and he was alone. Mexico lended his help and who knows how many human beings they saved from death of being bored ;).
These 2 man founded many "temporary" team members such as 12monkies and Nightravn and soon after Total Realism 2.0 threat has showed up in civfanatics.
From than It was long way till todays version.

So as you see there is no place for me being "leader" or "persuading" Houman and Mexico. But to think about it, my support, help in testing as well as ideas propabilly had some impact on their minds, to know that their effort is not any kind of a "waste". Also i respond to many threads (sometimes its nice, sometime rough) , "infecting" others with TR addiction (lol).

I want to join the team, but I know i cannot be "trusted". One day or another it can get more difficult for me to find time and some projects givent to me may be left uncompleated. This will make confusion and needless tention if the Team.

And to avoid your future confusionts, actual TR team is this :
Houman, Mexico, Hian the Frog, Ankenaton

But you were right in one point :
only adds to your greatness.

OK - ready for another stupid question ?? -- Is there any way to disable the "build prompt" from asking us to build religious buildings, islamic, zorastic, jewish, taoist, budist and so on and so forth -- I'm never going to build an Islamic anything - can that feature be disabled somehow?

I know this sounds dumb - but it's irritating that Civ has these religious building suggestions everytime it pos up asking what to build in a city.
 
Well... stupid question yes. But theres wisdom behind it ;)

In main menu got advanced menu and options (atleast i have options there) and it will put to you a screen with many "options" (what did you expect ?) two in the top left corner are "Advisor pop-ups" and "Sid's Tips". One of them turns off production help, the other only buildings. But if you turn off them both you will get what you wanted.

The truth is that winters i spen at home, not freezing my ass outside. On summer and autumn i "work" in brotherhood, but thats barelly 3 sometimes 4 hours of training a day. Sometimes we have daily tournaments sometimes longer (24 day is longest i have heared of, missed it becouse didnt have armor back than :(). We also do shows witch takes 6 hours or more if its far from my city.
I also play football(soccer) 2 times a week (3 hours). Rest of time i chill eighther at home, pool, bar, at friends house, RPG houses(we play rpg games, if you can only know what chicks go there ;)).
As for sleep... many pple say im a vampire :lol: Mostly becouse i dont "sleep" im rather taking naps few times a day, so you can rarelly find me tired.
I have polenty free time, but choose to waste it than use it :D

As for how to reply being outside house. Well Im allways equiped with eighther Palmtop or chill in places with access to internet.

You were playing beta4 or beta3. Unless you send a savegame I and TR team can do little about it. But hell, here's what i think:
1) Many units may (or even do) lead to a CTD. This cannot be fixed easilly. Unless Mexico will find a way tto optimize game engine, Better AI that will be implanted in Gold is only chance.
2) Many cities also crash game. In Pre-Gold (beta5) you can no longer build cities on ice (Russia, Canada, Greenland, North and South Poles).

According to what yu say, in late stages of game, AI as Human players have enough of time to build many units and cities. Mercenaries mod also makes it harder (it is optional in Pre-Gold).Another thing is a Map of the World... Having it all discovered slow downs your game even by about 50&#37;. You can easilly see it when buying maps from AI.

Thats all i have in mind right now.
 
OK - another question -- what is "brotherhood" ?? I need a job that only makes me work 3 to 4 hours a day ;)

OK - now for the serious stuff -- may be a couple of things that need to be looked at:
1: I built "The Great Wall" -- and for about 100 turns it worked as it should (no barbarians inside ) I am now at turn 285 -- for the last 7 or 8 turns barbarians have appeared inside the Great Wall area.
2: I understood Crusaders are not supposed to be upgradable. I have now been able to upgrade them to Prussian Grenadiers -- the upgrade button just showed up - I pressed (alt) and the upgrade button just to see what would happen and every one of my Crusaders became a Grenadier - good thing I didn't have too many - almost broke the bank :)

Please let me know what you think of this -- could it be just in my game - or do you think it's a bug -- or , finally, is the civopedia wrong ?

Brotherhood if you are refering to mine, its a "knight club". We play as middleage knights, we changed now dates, now we are 1400-1450, learning traditions, culture, and most importantly, knightscraft.
We learn to use meddival wepaons, block attack, get hit and survive, horseback riding, some may try and learn craftsmanship to become a smith.
The training we have its workout, but not body-building, were strong but we can still fit in out plates. Swordsmanship (i was attending kendo for 5 months and Aiki-budo for 2 years, in Aiki-budo we also used sword) were learning to use both handned swords as well as twohandned. Less in axes and maces. Spears are also importand. In trainings we often figh against each other. Some training are also used to practice shows and prepare to upcomming tournaments (no need to practice swords if its gonna be archery turnament).
Thats all fun.
As for expances. Well armor is quite expansive... Health cre even more, horses... guess ;). We also must pay for renting hall where we train, as well as workout and storage.
And income. In winter there is barelly any income. Only some duels where you are chalanged, or you chalange your self (attacker gets glory, defender money if any wins). Glory is required to recive invitation to some higher ranked tournaments, as well as get some crowd on shows. We do tournaments, each one has its own specifics and rules to witch we must agree. Some tournaments require entrance pay, some glory, others only invite. And there are shows, where we show of how life in middle ages looked like. Sometimes its just weaponary, sometimes ball, sometimes promenade, others battle recreation (biggest in Poland is yearelly 1410 Grunewald recreation, very high over 10 000 participants). Depending how you do in tournaments and how much shows you do, theres your income.
Last year i got 17000zl from tournaments and 7300zl from shows. But gave 4500zl for new armor and 2000zl for weapons. Also spend 4500zl for renting horses. "Money are not perfectly calculated" so its arround 13300zl income from this year for doing hobby. 1$ = 3.20zl i belive. So its 4156 $ + insurance and restitution witch was about 3000zl. And there is about 4000zl is spend on lost tournaments but u kno were not counting that;)
Bad thing is that some months you swim in "gold" and other you cant wait for a chance of getting some money.

Thats all my Brotherhood is and far more ;).
