[mod] TOTAL REALISM 2.0

Ok, if this is "supposed" to be "realism for the "world" then were are the Dinosaurs, the Triceratops etc. CIV 4 has the Blue Whale which is a sub-species of this era. Heck that would be great fighting against a Protarchaeopteryx robusta. Just my opinion.

 The Dinosaurs died out long before the earliest human civilizations. Some curious specimens such as wales, crocodiles and insects survived but thats it.

Do you have any idea when the Dinosaurs died out? Do you think it was 4000 BC? And you think your suggestion is realistic? :spank:

I guess than its just ancient and modern history then not TOTAL sorry.

Actually you are right. We could start it by 100.000 BC with Dinausaurs. But no civ would be able to move them because they are animals. So you have to hit the ENTER key until the year 4000 BC and THEN you get your first settler to play the game. Is that realistic enough? :D

ACTUALLY history begins with a self-realized social memory. history doesn't exist without humans (or i suppose some other intelligence) around to write down (in the strictest sense of the term) or at least TELL successive generations the stories of the past.

everything before the sumerians (at this point as far as anyone can tell) is PRE-history. you need stories to have history, everything else is archeology or paleontology!

Hi

There is no year displayed in the up right corner.

The year is not displayed as a design choice by the team. The current year date's we use now are based on christianity. In the game you start before christianity is even founded, so it doesn't really make sense to have the years there.

As for the scores, have you tried clicking on the little button that says "Toggle Scores Display"? It's in the lower right corner above the mini-map and has a red checkmark on it.

Thanks for the precision ^^ I understand the choice ^^

I've tried that sometimes my own score and another nation one's appear and a few turns later they all disappear, but the 2 nations i eliminate are again displayed.....

I'll try to find a screenshot

so where do we get 2.02?

I read that it was this weekend?

I am excited by this mod. I played 2.0 extensively. I found that on noble, one of two things happen;

Either I get totally crushed, or I totally dominate. There seldom seemed to be a balance. It really depended alot on my starting choices and how much room I have to expand.

I tried playing on the huge world, (wish there was a normal size world) and the game takes about 5 minutes between turns early on, something that only happens on normal maps late in the game. I realized for me to play that mod I would have to have a lot of patience and so I stopped. I have a fairly decent rig with 1gb ram, and I know some perfomance fixes in 2.01 and 2.02 so maybe it will be something I can return too.

I personally like the roman civ in this game. You can dominate early and then unlike all the other races, you get no special units. To me, that seems like an awesome choice. Do I want to have the best units early game? or do I want to wait and have some good units throughout. I choose Rome, as soon as I get settled in, and have those special units shouting "Concealyomess" or whatever they say, I began my domination of my neigbors and their eventual conversion to hinduism. hehe.

powerful mod. really compelling.

this is everything I was looking for.

I will say, I love the installer too. Sevomod has all these add ons and patches and I am always afraid that if I install the add ons that something will get invalidated by another thing. I like the idea of getting as MUCH stuff in one mod and just pressing an 'install' button so that it handles everything for me cleanly.

I really think firaxis should include this in warlords as an option.

Kaenash, I think you just don't have enough memory. I have 2 gb ram and when I play with huge map I don't experience any problem and I have played to 18th century. My memory usage is about 1,3 gb when I play. Try to change thread priority from taskmanager to real-time, that might help.

How do you do that?

I'm playing a game as India and am having problems with Bombay growing. It was sitting at size 9 with 1 turn left to grow for a few turns and never went to 10. So I went into WB and moved it up to ten, seeing if it would jumpstart the growth. But now it is at 10 with 1 turn left to grow for the past few turns and hasn't done anything. There is a good surplus of food, health isn't an issue, so I don't know why it wouldn't grow.

I've posted a bug report in sourceforge, but it won't let me load up the file (too large). It's also too large for this forum (it's 600 k). Don't know if you want to look at the game or if you can reproduce the problem yourself.

Anyone else notice this problem?

Is the spiral minaret spupposed to generate income for you, if your state religion is zoroastriasm, the spiral minirate is NOT OBSOLETE yet, and 49% of the world is Zoroastriasm?

I think this is bugged, it is not adding any income for me.

You may be right there, Adam and Eve never existed. LOL :crazyeye: Will not write off topic again, sorry. Just having fun here, more to comment on is all, LOL have a nice day.

Strategy Only,

So you want an Adam and an Eve unit to fight Pangu the god of Chinese mythology who created the world with his mighty axe, Zues and his titans and whatever other mythos could have occured to people? help me understand what ridiculous point you may think you have about including dinosaurs, talking snakes and other made up mythology in this very brilliant mod?

That might actually be fun; maybe strategyonly could come up with a suitable MOD? ;) Eve could be a worker unit specializing in fruit.

Maybe they did, maybe they didn't, but if you believe Adam and Eve existed then the Earth, and the rest of the Universe, are about 6000 years old, and there never were any dinosaurs, so, realistically, they can't be represented in a Total Realism MOD. :)
