[MOD][WARLORDS] ViSa Modpack

The path is correct. I've tried with different graphic card settings - in vain (Intel Graphics GMA 900).

Gotta be an install problem or video card or DirectX......

Not sure what is going wrong on your computer, but ViSa should be working...be sure you are running in English too.

I'm on freshly installed civ4 1.61 + freshly installed warlords, patched - both english. I've never had this issue before and I've been playing both vanilla and modded civ. DirectX is up-to-date and it's never caused any problems with civ.

I can't even find any thread related to this issue lol.

I could see the units when I could not see the interface. Now I can see the interface, but the units are gone.

I can't see any logical reason for this.

Actually it could be about the Zulu civ :D.

Now I've tried the Celts - the settlers are visible, but their carts aren't. When the interface wasn't there, the carts and all the units were visible. Any ideas?

has anyone reported problems with the maps have like black spots on it like on my current map and many times before on other maps i'll scroll down on land i have explored and bam every thing gos black in certain spots so i cant see all of them nice graphics as soon as i scroll back out of the area it gos back to normal really annoying

Ishon,

I have never heard this problem before, no clue if the Troubleshooting section of the ViSa Website doesn't help.

Forsaken,

That is usually the graphics settings in combination with the video card...I get that on my old laptop.

it does it on any settings doen't matter what they are and its random some times it happens on maps and sometimes it dont

Just installed the latest Visa + Update, everything is working fine, nice startup (relatively quick too) choose custom game yadda yadda, beginning new game - then when the game is ready to run i click start and there i am, settler, scout, terrain and no interface. There was also no introduction screen.

Ive checked the vanilla version and a couple other mods and the interface is working fine.

Ive reinstalled the mod but to no avail - still no interface at all. It looks like when the interface is removed manually (alt + I, i think), but even then the time is still shown. In my situation nothing is shown except the playing screen.

The game works perfectly apart from that :)

Any ideas anyone, has anyone suffered the same problem?

I figured out my problems with civics (user error). I did run into the same problems as Lukethecruel when I installed Visa 200 exe instead of 1.2 full. I deleted and reinstalled everything a couple of times trying to figure out what was causing my civics issue

The problem I have run into is I have conquered my first city and it is just a single square vs the typical 9 squares. No unrest shown. I have heard of this problem before but I thought it was on a different mod. Any ideas.

Known Bugs
Spoiler :
Memory Allocation Error on saving games (AutoSave or Manual) has been reported in multiple mods and multiple threads on CivFanatics. Our recommendation is to not play on any map size greater than LARGE. Other work-around is to change Graphics Settings to Low and disable all Effects. Any other setting changes to reduce save game file size will also help avoid this error. This appears to be a Firaxis save game issue, not any particular mod problem.

SmartMap can cause errors in the two new Civic Categories (Education and Health Care). The default civic in those two categories sometimes is not selected on game startup. This also can happen on a 'normal' map immediately after SmartMap is used. Our recommendation is to not play with SmartMap.

Languages besides English can cause errors throughout the game. Our recommendation is to play ViSa in English only.

ATI Video Cards can cause numerous problems with this mod and vanilla Civ as well. Our recommendation is for all ATI people to download the latest video drivers without Catalyst.

Upgrading from version before ViSa v2.00 Registry Key Fix can be downloaded and double-clicked anywhere to set the proper registry keys for ViSa. Download this and apply it (by double klicking it) from any place, if you have installed both Warlords and ViSa to standard directories. If you didn't choose default installations (We assume in this case that you know what you are doing), please proceed with the following rules.
Only take these steps if you're NOT using default directories:
open the "ViSa-210-regkey-fix.reg" with your windows Notepad
change the "AppDir"=""C:\\Program Files\\Firaxis Games\\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\\Warlords\\Mods\\ViSa" to the proper directory you used for your personal installation.

Note: it is highly recommended that you reinstall warlords and civ to the default directories "C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Warlords" on your computer.

REPEAT AGAIN AND READ THE FIRST POST

The ViSa Team can't be here 24/7 to answer questions and solve problems, but we have gathered a lot of info to help.

Ok,

Here is the problem. In three games now resources are not showing up or in very small number (like 1). We are playing standard map with 6 continents and there is no potatoes, gems, salt, olives, or sulfur. What gives? Can't have gunpowder units if there is no sulfur. I have the proper techs, Ag II and gunpowder for instance but no resources. Very annoying to spend hours building up only to discover your game is ruined.

I generated maps in the future age so I could see what it was doing. I generated at least 7 maps and if it is set to standard resources it will only generate 1 sulfur, 1 gem if your lucky. No olives, salt or potato.

If you set it to balanced then it generates equal numbers but of course everyone gets everything....where is the fun in that? Is anyone else getting this problem?..........

I'm playing on a hugh map with 6 continents and I can't find any Barley.
But that the only resorce missing...

speed normal
terra scenario
resources are well balanced.
all civs survived, new world was empty like a can after a football match :)
i colonized most of the new world, fighting only with barbarian that are in medieval era.
tech is close to future tech. i will be in future tech in 10 15 years.
some pink units but not many, some black spot.
waiting time for turn around 30 60 secs..sometime 2 mins.
I have too many units and too many buildings to choose from.
Tafire said mod is balanced till gunpower, that makes the game after, a lot unbalanced at my advice.
I dint find any ctd or big bugs, only little things like some pink units.
The thing i love more in mod: The tallest building race.really cool.:)
now my wishes, that are not requests in any way :)
Slow techs a lot. the future tech goal only if played in low difficult.
Have a special mod speed where the ages could expand more,to have more pleasure from all add ons. so i could fight with all new units and not only upgrade them.
reserved units and buildings for civilizations, so i dont have russian fighters when i am german :)
that's all folks :)
this is for sure one of the best mod of the game, a lot of works in it. a lot of stuff to enjoy,
This topic is not a critic in anyway, i appreciate a lot the visa team work, behind a mod there are so many hours of personal free work. is just a personal report of the mod, and most important of all, is my personal point of view not a general view:)

I tested the original map, but I could not select the option in the Visa start screen.
And therefore I'd love to test your version, but I have a problem:

How do I load it (is a custom scenario) and then choose from Visa option??

Thkx

EDIT:
A question for the Visa team (I asked it in another forum already but no luck...)

First of all, thank you for this map in particular, and for all the work you do with maps in general.

I have a question, which applies to the Visa mod and your map specifically, don't know if it's a more general problem.

Ok, Visa allows for certain settings to be chosen at the start, IF you use the "custom game" option. Now, to load your map, I need to start using one of the "custom scenario" or "scenario" options. This only lets me chose the leader of a civilisation, but not those settings.

Do you know of a solution to this? Like, fiddling with the .ini file? OR can your map saved in a way that it shows up as one of the maps I can choose using the "custom game" option?

Thks for yr help.

You'd have to talk to the VISA people about that, i am sure they'd help.

Any idea??

This is the opposite of other people's complaint....standard works fine and balanced leaves resources out. And I haven't heard any resource complaints in at least 2 weeks...so not sure what the issue is...

Instead of playing future games or whatever you are doing, just go into WorldBuilder and look for the resources.

You are on Prince Level....that means you have an advantage in tech % over the AI....Noble is the 'default' level. Other settings are basically the same in my game except the map and my tech is working just fine...but I am not past gunpowder by much (only because I neglected other lines and did a SL to it) at 50% done with the game.
