Excuse me if this has been said before.

It occurs to me that a mod involving both the English and the Courthouse might be in order. The laws enacted that shaped countries such as India, might make the courthouse an ideal choice of modding.

I posted here, as this is part of gameplay discussion.

What do you think?

(I can't mod by the way, and I thank all you modders who make the game more fun for me!)

Erm, what exactly is your point?

curious here as well. Realistically, GB had a habit of tailoring it's laws to it's advantage.

Sorry, I did not mean to be obtuse...

Here is a link to Wikipedia...

I was just thinking that England was the birth place of the industrial revolution, and also had a vast effect over law in how we perceive law today (Parliament). Therefore I was thinking that the courthouse might be a target for modification.

Wasn't being funny.

With the Magna Carta in 1215, I could see a Courthouse UB for England.

What kinds of changes were you thinking about here?
A greater maintenance cost reduction, like the HRE's Rathaus?
or an increase in gold (+15%) like the England UB, but for a courthouse?
or some other bonus, like happiness for fair laws (or unhappiness for unfair laws)?
I'm sure occasionally a few Brit were repressed. ;)

Maybe an extra reduction in overseas maintenance costs, though that would probably be too narrow a bonus to make it worth it as a UB.

Um, I'm not that great a player. I was making a suggestion for those who are a lot better than me at this game and who know this game inside out.

I don't mind if the suggestion is not picked up on, but the idea occurred to me, and, well, this is a forum, so I shared my thoughts. That is all I did...did I do something wrong?

I totally agree.

I recognise 5 types of law.

1) Judicial
2) Theological
3) Etiquette
4) moral
5) Natural

Do I believe Europe and North America live in an age of Judicial dictatorship...

I sure do...

Ah no. I too was just brainstorming on your lead. I didn't know if you were thinking of a specific change in mind.
and yes, I was being sarcastic about the repressed Brits joke there.
It was just too open for a Monty Python "Help! Help! I'm being repressed!" joke. :)

In fact, in that newer version of Robin Hood starring Russell Crowe, the Magna Carta came in at the end. So, one could see longbowmen and laws for England. The fit could work, if a modder wanted to make it happen.
