ah, your still thinking in civ4 terms. you don't need to get that horses you can find a citystate wit them. and I too tha=ouigt arctic starts were terrible but they are plusses up with deer etc. the only places that I think could be a "bad" start are no hills or no rivers but dcided to play through and did well.

That is assuming that there are any city-states nearby that HAVE horses! Even then, it could take a while before you can get the resource!

I'm so proud of you. You have saved the world!

This is not true, we don't know anything about it.

Could you post a link to your source for that?

Funny, you two never heard something of "Irony", am i right?

PS: Jott, du müsstest es doch eigentlich bemerkt haben :lach:. (J, you should have noticed it .)

Do you have Iron?

Sounds like you are stuck in your map's version of North America. No Horses native to the continent.

I don't know... didn't get that far. I decided to start over and try one of the earth maps. I loaded the huge one because I wanted to get an idea of how big it was. The game put me (as America) on the Russian Pacific (north of China and Mongolia). Interesting so far! I will have to reach Europe to get a sense of how the map is, overall.

Oh, and I do have horses in this one... a whopping 4 not far from my main city. I settled my second city right next to it so that I can get the horses, even though there is nothing else really good around it. I suppose New York will be my production or financial city. I found a source of Iron (Korea, I think) but I have to travel for it. It is across the sea from my first two cities (don't know the name of the sea off hand) so it will take a bit to reach it, but since it is on the coast I can link it with a harbor. It is just too far for roads at this point.

Anyway, my goal with this, as I mentioned, is to see how the huge earth map will be. I really hope the WB comes out very soon. Anybody been able to figure out the map sizes yet?

Moderator Action: Let's bring the discussion back on topic - where to find the modding tools. There are plenty of other threads for discussing your current game. etc.

So, where can we find them??? I keep checking the tools in Steam, but all I see is a bunch of poo for games I don't even have! How will it be listed so that I can find it on the list?

  • Civilization V SDK
  • Sid Meier's Civilization V SDK
  • Civilization V Worldbuilder
...?

Inquiring minds need to know? :)

Gotta get the WB! (That's World Builder not Warner Bros, btw! :p)

I'm SO glad northies didn't also get a headstart on THAT! :mischief:
Except for you ridiculous frankies. Modding the game since god knows when and all that. It's all fun for you.

:D

I'm currently working on something I know dozens of others will want to do as well... Good to get a jump on them all. :mischief:

I'm currently working on a mod to add hardwood as a strategic resource. Required for catapults and wooden ships. :)

Good, I need it for my fantasy mod! Please add Stone too (can be just a bonus resource in the normal game, not all bonuses must be food).

Nobody will notice if you just do a slapdash reskin of marble, right? :mischief:

Actually, adding in non-food bonus resources was one of the first things I thought of too, so I imagine it'd be a pretty popular modcomp.

It would be slightly entertaining to use the Stonehenge model, better than nothing and it's already there.

Do you want to collaborate? what buttons do you need and I can take a whack at trying to do a model.

PS et al - Nexus lets you convert a blender exported FBX file to a Civ5 gr2 file (for models)

If you're willing to work on art for others.... I need at least 8 images for Social Policy trees. Plus associated buttons.

PM me and I'll go into detail if you're interested. :p They... Aren't your standard SPs.
