Actually doing it after he asked you not to would be considered trying to p!ss him off. Now why would you do that?:D

I think the Mods do a commendable job, as long as they keep their cool.

For what it's worth, I would like to be a Mod!

:)

Having read the Kilroy thead up to where he got banned I'd agree they do a good job. Shame Plomeros got banned though - he was funny and now he reckons he's leaving for good :(

The rules apply to everyone.

He was told to stop shooting oneliners in serious threads, and then did it again.

Normally I'm not overly concerned with fooling around, but some people seem to now think they can just blow off moderator warnings and come to this forum and complain.

That IS NOT what feedback is for.

And before ANOTHER b1tch and whine, think about what the rules say, quite clearly: NO SPAMMING.
I let him do it a bit, but he was told to stop, and I see ANOTHER one.
That is an AUTOMATIC ban.
It's the same as spitting in my face.

And about things like saying "he reckon's he's leaving for good".
What he is saying is "If I don't get my way, be allowed to do whatever I want, and that no rule applies to me, I won't post".
What do you expect us to say?
That I'm sorry I had to ban him because he broke the rules and blew off a moderator warning?
Please come back, the rules don't apply to you?

Think about it.
We want people to post, but not if it means they can do whatever they want, we don't have privalleged posters here.

Back to the poll: I voted yes.
Not to kiss the mods their asses but because I really feel they are the ones that make the environment that exists here possible. You can post serious stuff and have fun without the risk of being harrassed all the time like at certain other forums.

Well, I didn't really mean he should be exempted from the rules and I take your point that he was warned etc - I just think its a shame he's gone cos he was funny, rule-breaker or not.

I'll say no more about it. Didn't mean to tell you how to do your job :)

The MODs to a great job and get better every day. They got better yesterday, they'll get better tomorrow, and on the 9th, and the 13th :D

The mods do a very good job :goodjob:

Only issue from my side is that they have an issue with explaining bans and a need-to-know point of view.

its not like they have to explain the bans they only have to explain to TF this was never meant for us all to rule otherwise there would be no point in mods

exactly BCLG, i feel that theonly personi need to justify a ban to, is TF. Since he is the supreme ruler

This is sort of going the way of that "banned putz list" thread, and while it should not be necessary to explain to anyone but TF why someone is/was/were banned, it SHOULD be explained to the bannee so they don't go nuts with whine threads and such... BUT, if pms are not available to bannees, and they have options set to no emails, what then... But I got a pm once from a bannee saying to sign a petition and such to get him unbanned? Maybe the PM rule changed then... ? My head hurts...

The No PM for Bannee rule was imposed at exactly that time and is still in place I believe. Got the same PM too like you did, Floppa. For some reason, people think TF listens to 'credible' ppl like us. :crazyeye:

Foolish, if you're banned for a good reason no petition should be able to change that.

Just noticed, floppa has had his postcount reset again! You are so postcount-obsessed aren't you....just kidding! ;)

But everyone has to give an e-mail address when they register to the site so that is the best way to tell bannees that they have been banned. Those perma-banned shouldn't have the chance to receive PMs anyway.

Banned if you do, banned if you don't! ;)
(that isn't supposed to mean anything btw, I just thought it was funny)

Well I personally (I think) have my email not available for use here. WHile I DID originally come here because of Civ2, I do not have Civ3 and don't think I ever will. I just didn't want mail updates and such from TF. (Not that TF is a bad guy or anything) I mean, I come here to post and share in the fun and camaraderie, I DO post in Civ2 somewhat still, but I don't need updates on patches and interviews or whatever. So IF I were to be banned, short of a pm explaining it or in a thread that I could read, you better believe I'd raise Hell when I got back... :p And it can't exactly be made mandatory to have your email available for admin, or can it?

Er, yeah. I think so. You submit your e-mail address when you register at the site, adn the option in your user profile is only whether or not you want your e-mail address to be visible when other users access your profile. The mods can always see your entire profile if they want to. So TF can send you an e-mail on the address you registered with as long as it is still active.
