Modern-Day Enhancement Mod:

Depends whether the map being used is the ancient world or modern world -- Brasilia's location was once deep in the jungle, but today it's a good three hours at least to get to true rainforest. Brazil has much less jungle today than it had ~300 years ago.

Hi, nice mod! I have some sugestions. I live in Brasilia, and i fell the city is not in the rigth place. Maybe if you moved it 4 tiles NW, to 55, 127. And removed some of those marsh. And i know the map isn´t yours (is it?), but there are too many mountains in brazilian territory. Consider replacing all of them by hills. And the peruvian position is really bad too!

And how about leader names? Change them too, to modern leaders!

But it looks really fun, I'll play it this weekend!

IMHO, the Maya should be a (continental)central american civ, like costa rica or nicaragua.
 
Petrucio: Do you mean Great Leaders or the leaderheads? The map isn't mine, it's Ryhes. I wouldn't be suprised if Brasília's location is off; it was a rough guess based on the maps I could find.

I'm not sure what to do about the Peruvian start location, because it's really bad. Perhaps I shoud visit Lima and ask about their Bonus Resources? :lol:. I was considering irrigating the cow on the coast and perhaps making hills able to be irrigated. (Terrace farming.)

I think that modern israelis should be religeus and militaristic. I've spent a lot of time learning about this country and it appears that the all most honored and powerfull ppl there are ex-generals along with a very strong cult of army and militery. Also there is almost no other democratic-western-type countries where religius leaders have such an influense as they have in israel.

...Well, as genghis_khev said - i dont want to start a geopolitical riot, but i gotta tell you that israelis shouldn't be underestimated as a nation worth inserting - all 3 of the wars they had with their neighbours were state of the art operations when they fought at ratio 1 against 15 and with very poor resources and won.

What do I have the Israelis as, Religious and Commercial? I think that's because I just changed one Hittite trait (Expansionst) over to a more fitting one. I'll probably follow your suggestion on my next update. :)

Brasília is not a jungle or something like that, it's almost like a desert. Ask to Petrucio.
Maya can't be Argentina neither Brazil. The start location is not the same of both countries! I think Chilean or Peruvian better. Althought Chilean is better just bcoz they are descendents of mayas...

The chileans are in no way descendants of the maya. The maya lived in central america, and the chileans live in south america, and are descendants of the incas, as are the peruvians. IMHO the incas should be Peru and the Mayas should be a continental central american civ.

Hm... This isn't a complete mod. How do you think ancient greek towns are the same as they are today? Thermopylae isn't but a measly 5,000 town in Greece, while Pharsalos... I didn't even know there's a city called Pharsalos! (Maybe it's Pharsala, another small town.) Sparta is a small town too. Maybe there should be some renaming there as well... I can help you, if you really want your mod to be complete!
 
CuBicle: an updated city list for Greece would be great. I knew it would need updating, as I had the feeling most Greek cities were colonies sprinkled around the Med. I was going to redo it, same as I did Egypt, but for some reason I couldn't work up the will to spend a few more hours peering at a map. :lol: I planned to redo it later, but between the updates I've quite forgotten. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm trying to compile more information to make 2.6 a bit more fleshed out than this. Brazilian and Australian leaders, for one. I was thinking of making the Brazilian leader Vargas, due to the fact that there's a leaderhead of him at CFC. :)

In my opinion you shouldn't rename Mayas to Brazil...that's like renaming the Iroquois to Mexico. The Brazilian indians were the Tupi, which don't have any influence from the Mayan culture. Yes, although both are in modern Latin America, it does not make sense, for Brazil's ancient indians were so different from the Mayas...

I would normally disagree with that for any mod...But this mod, it seems the rightest thing to do. One thing though: In Germany/France there is a president and a prime minister/chancellor, which one should be chosen?
 
If you choose actual leaders of 2003-January 2004 i suggest :
President Jacques Chirac of the Frenchs and Chancellor Gerart ? Schroeder of the Germans

In France there is a presidential politic regim since 1958 : the 5th Republic ...
In Germany the Chancellor have the the real politic power ...
