Based on Fairlines T55, Erikas Romanian TR-77-580 given a new paintjob:
Standard Romanian, 1980s Romanian camo, Iraqi export, Iraqi camo- Gulf war.
After his denouncing of the 1968 invasion of Czechoslovakia, Ceausescu's Romania was cut off from Soviet military support and feared or was under threat of invasion itself. It maintained its T55 fleet mostly with Chinese help. The TR-77 580 was an attempt to remedy the situation. A reverse-engineered variant of the T55 was planned to house the West German Leopard-1 engine in a heavier elongated chassis from the get go. As Krauss Maffei eventually refused them the production licence, they produced the TR 77 580 with the 580 hp T55 reverse-engineered engine instead from 1977 until 1985 when they switched to the externally identical TR-85-800 fitted with the 800 hp Leopard 1 reverse-engineered engine, all with Chinese help. About 150 of TR 77 580s were ordered by Saddam's Iraq via Egypt and delivered between 1981 and 1984. Iraqi MBTs of this model possibly took part in the Iran-Iraq war and first gulf war of 1991.
Thanks guys!

The Italian Aermacchi MB-339 Advanced trainer and light attack aircraft :
Italian air force, Argentine navy, Eritrean air force.

During 1980, the COAN ordered ten MB-339As. During the Falklands War, six of them were located at Port Stanley Airport, They were the only attack jets to operate from the Falklands, Other Aermacchis were operated from three mainland bases.
One crashed into high ground while approaching the airport at Port Stanley. Another MB-339A hit the frigate HMS Argonaut, causing light damage. An MB-339A was shot down by a Blowpipe missile during the Battle for Goose Green, while attempting to attack British ships. A total of three MB-339 airframes were reportedly captured by the British.

During 1996, six Aermacchi MB-339CEs were sold to the former Italian colony of Eritrea, to use against Italy's old nemesis, Ethiopia. Their initial deployment occurred on 5 June 1998 when they were used to attack the Ethiopian city of Mekelle. One was shot down the next day.
On the morning of 12 June 1998, four MB.339s rocketed and cluster-bombed the city of Adigrat.
On 5 February 1999, a pair of Eritrean MB.339FDs attacked a fuel depot in Adigrat again, some 48 kilometres inside the Ethiopian border, all with heavy civilian casualties, claimed by Ethiopia.

Bonus fact: Together with the A-4, last jet to be flown by the RNZAF, back in 2001.

Can someone link me to some fairline-type gfx for predator drones? Cheers.

I think there's one in the graphics set i did for Case's scenario Dragon, if you look in my thread for scenario gfx. Sorry on my phone or would link you.

You mean the latest ones? I only made the CM170 from scratch. The A4 I made out of a Wyrmshadow Civ3 model and Fairline improved it. Typhoon353 made the Lavi from Fairline parts I believe. The rest were indeed scratch built by Fairline, who is immensely talented. I just recolored or slightly modified some. The sigs show it is a team work, but still very much thanks to Fairline and his original drawings.
The F15 and F16 were started by apl many years ago.
I drew the MB339 from scratch and added a modified Fairline canopy because I can't draw glass to save my life. I made the Mirage F1 out of a Wyrmshadow Civ3 model, then Typhoon353 improved it, then Fairline improved it and so on. You get the idea.

Fairline is our leading craftsman when it comes to units. Almost the entire continuation of CIV2 mods have been due to his revolutionary unit art.

(I know he'll react with overt modesty to this, but facts are facts) ;)

I know, the sheer number of sprites he's made boggles the mind! Is there a sprite of the B-1?

I'm looking for sprites of the Virginia class submarine and the Gerald Ford class carrier, if possible.

Any hints at what project you have in mind, @Wiw? Is it at all based on this Rumsfeldia thing you mentioned a few time on the TheorySpark forums?

Actually, no, it's something else entirely. I was hoping to give each civ unique versions of the same units, but I might forego it and stick with generic units instead.

tanelorn-soko-j22-orao-iar-93-vultur-png.562578

The Yugo-Romanian Soko J22/ IAR 93 Vultur attack plane reworked with Fairline canopies, bombs and other bits. The Orao is done, the Vultur needs more work...

Would it be possible (again, no rush or current need, just esthetic interest, and since you're doing it anyways) to do the paint job and roundels for the post-breakup Serbian ones, and the very used by Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina during the civil war there?
