In the following, any advice or unit that you create that can be added, will be well received. ;)

Add units of different scenarios in which I am working:
 
Gapetit, do my eyes deceive me? Is that fourth units .bmp file from the left my very own Vietnam scenario? If it is, I believe it'd be the first of my old MGE works you've graced yet... :)
 
If you need help with the Soviet Afghan scenario, leave a message here, I will dig up any russian literature you need !!!
In the meantime ... I wonder how a Grenadian invasion scenario would turn out ...
 
There was a boardgame (hex-and-chit style) back in the late '80's by an indy publisher (I wish I remembered the name or publisher) where the Grenada invasion triggered a full out conflict in the Middle American region with Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela, the New Jewel Movement, FARC, the FMLN, and Communist rebels of several factions in Mexico and Guatamala, versus US, Anglo-Caribbean, Mexican, Colombian, and most Central American government forces, as well as the Contra factions. Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Surinam, and Panama initially are neutral, but can be drawn into the conflict through various mechanisms, and Soviet and British, French, and Dutch intervention on obvious sides is also possible if the conflict drags on long enough. Although I don't, for the life of me remember the game or publisher's, it may be a neat idea for a scenario (or a similar setup).

Pretty much as it did in reality - a Superpower bully taking on a vastly inferior force and crowing about its victory ;)
 
Patine, is Patrick you? To be old is the most complex scenario of Vietnam. :goodjob:

Strelok22, the scenario of Afghanistan is not well developed ... the original is a MGE which was abandoned (need to know who is the one that started ... I do not remember or I locate). I have the map and some cities ... my idea is that the protagonists are the Afghan government, which will associate the Soviets. His arms development will be based on Soviet trucks that will create the various Afghan units. Soviet troops will have as main escort mission to the point of conversion. The other civilizations will be the various terrorist and rebel forces.
For me the most important would be a map with the 6 main raised forces, with their strong points. :rolleyes:

Fairline, try to use all the units I can. :)
 
Yes, gapetit, I am indeed known to some as Patrick. Thank you for your kind words on one of my earlier Civ2 projects.

Now, I have a problem and wonder if anyone knows a way to fix it. I just noticed that, since upgrading with a free upgrade from MS to Windows 10, trying to download .rar files only seems to allow them to be saved as .php files (which, if I recall correctly, are effectively blank files created when a file type won't download properly for some reason). .zip files seem to download, though. Does anyone know a way around this issue?
 
I still can't download these .rar files since my free upgrade to Windows 10. It still just wants to save them as a .php (essentially blank) file. Does anyone know how to work around this? I'm still using Internet Explorer, not the horrible new browser that came with the update.
 
Every time a new 'upgraded' version of windows comes out more things seem to be broken. I liked XP but it was forever crashing and needing re-installation (probably due to my extra-curricular browsing habits!). My laptop is Windows 7 and there are several features I would count as essential that no longer work and there are no online solutions available. The latest Tablet friendly versions of Window just look like a nightmare.

My desktop runs on the much maligned Vista. I have to say that it has been extremely reliable, user friendly (once the user account settings have been switched off) and has features that are pretty similar to XP. If I ever have to replace this PC I think I may downgrade back to Vista.

Unfortunately I have no solutions to your .rar problem. I assume you use 7-Zip to extract the files and you have done a thorough Google search for solutions / people complaining of similar issues?
 
Try to do a very simple thing: to rename the file once downloaded, and replace the .php for .rar for the name and save it.

Gapetit, I really like the Wonders graphics in your ww2pacific update. Where did you get the icon graphics for the Golden Gate Bridge and FDR's New Deal? They look very realistic!

Now you mention it I'm kicking myself for not thinking of this! Good thinking Batman! :goodjob:

Also, keep up the good work with the conversions. You deserve a medal for services to the Scenario League.:bowdown:
