I'm just now playing on huge maps, because I just got a computer capable of doing it. I'm finding that on Monarch level, I can't keep up in tech. Even though I've had no problem warmongering (I'm Julius on Earth 4000 b.c. map) and taking out my neighbors, I'm finding that people on the other side of the world are outpacing me in tech (I'm at about 20 percent science right now on the commerce slider because of the size of my empire).

All my close neighbors have been subdued, and I own Europe down to the middle east. So, should I just take my huge stack of Praetorians and Catapults, march them to the other side of the world, and raze all the Chinese and Japanese cities? I'm on marathon speed, so I guess that helps.

what a hilarious question. If you coudl do that then why wouldnt you? before they have riflemen for example? If you really knew that it would work, then under what insane circumstances would it be better to leave them to their own devices?? seriously, its so puzzling to me.

Is this Warlords? I played an Earth map as J.C. and just ended up vassalizing everybody in Europe/Asia/Africa and winning domination. China always does pretty well as there's some ridiculously good land/resources over there.
