My 4-5 settlers were ready to settle but i waited until last minute.
I only lost 1 place to Huayna on the small island. I took the barbarian city and sent a settler but he settled where i was planning to settle. There is enough land for 1 more city and my settler is waiting there now.

Literature for the epics and onto optics > astronomy sounds much better than my plan of literature and onto liberalism especially since I now have TGL in Yasodharapura. In a similar vein, your point about espionage is also a great spot indeed, I thought about the very same thing just as I was finishing off Sury. Honestly, I dont know what I was smoking when I played that turnset!
