Monarchist Cookbook Game IV, Mao Zedong of China!

I'm glad that you are interested!

Rolo has generously offered to make a map for us. As soon as that is finished, it shouldn't be long and we will get started. I will be sure to post here to let people know when the new thread is up.

Yay for Emperor Cookbook!
:woohoo:

Hi ChromiumL,

I too would be interested by an Emperor Cookbook...

Cheers,

Raskolnikov

I will absolutely play an Emperor Cookbook. I think the big problem with the Monarch one is that most of the players were above that level in skill, making the odds of getting a massively strong round very high. I am betting Emp is the ideal level for this concept, because even Immortal level players arent going to "lights out" the rounds, they will be stronger, but not to the degree we saw in the Monarch one, looking back at some of our games, you can see how huge one or two mega-rounds were.

Finally got the thread started for our first Emperor Cookbook:

Thanks to Rolo for making the map for us! We are playing Ghandi--yay for fast workers! Should be an interesting round!

Hey, kind of late to post in this thread, but all the new monarch games on the forum I can't play somewhy.... the map doesn't show up on the load screen (anyone care to explain?). Anyway I tried this one out, very interesting game Alexander beat me to the gems spot and he was expanding insane. The capitol is soooo food rich and with a few hills and tons of forests around i decided to try a SE. I got the piramids, but it slowed me down in expanding, still I managed to settle 3 more cities quite fast, with an eye on production potential of those cities (because I was planning to abuse my UU asap). Once my scientists specialists were finally rolling (no stone/industrial takes a while for the piramids) I managed to get Machinery pretty fast, a looooong time before my enemies were even close to feudalism (longbows). Alexander is the only close opponent and when I had 8-10 cho-ko-nu's and more in productionI litterly rolled over his territory. He was the most powerfull leader when i attacked him, but i knew he couldn't put up a hard fight in the begin with such a huge empire. I must say what a powerfull UU China has, I think I lost only 4 units to the first 3 cities. After a while Alexander build horse archers so I had to sacrifice a little more cho-ko-nu's to get through (10 first strikes obsolete...), but he was already done. After quite some cities my economy started to have a hard time so i made peace, managed to get some techs + 1 city he captured from korea earlier, which i gave back and i got friendly with korea. Even with science at rate 20% i was teching way faster than the rest and after switching to slavary in a golden age and sacrifice a lot of the greek people i got a courthouse in most new cities very fast. Economy stable again and already on a techlead while having the largest empire.... After winning the liberalism race easily I decided to stop. Getting late and basicly already won the game. I forgot to make some interesting screenshots, but if anyone is interested check the save.
