20BC: Settle Franfkurt:
55AD: Math to Louis for IW + 30 Iron on our island and at newly founded city out in boonies (great!)
130AD: Negative event: Lost food stores in Berlin; Toku goes Buddhist; open borders with Joao; currency to Louis for alpha + 50 (I prefer to trade currency because it doesn't immediately lead to anything threatening)
160AD: Build 7 triremes quest...umm, no thanks (despite the extra bonus for having GLH)
175AD: Colossus in; start toward GL (we don't have a library yet? no academy...blech); currency to Sal for mono+30; revolt to HR + OR; gift alpha to Joao when requested
190AD: Quest "Greed" to take Iron @ Medina...all in good time
205AD: Essen founded
310AD: Joao goes buddhist
355AD: Revolt to bureaucracy (CS done)
370AD: Christianity founded by Joao
460AD: Liz created as vassal of Suleiman, leaves him with only one city

She has some ripe terrain, it is more like he is the vassal of her

Pop GP settle him in capital
490AD: Gift CoL to Liz when demanded (pleased)
505AD: Reject Joao's demand to go buddhist (cautious)
565AD: Finish GL in capital
580AD: CoL + Aesthetics to Sal for Calendar + map + gold (friendly)
595AD: Prove world is round
640AD: Dortmund founded
655AD: Taoism founded by Mongolia, who we haven't officially met yet
670AD: Gift CoL to Louis when demanded (pleased)
685AD: Meet Kublai, open borders
700AD: Stuttgart founded, sack barb city Hsing-Nu to finish closing off terrain E of Saladin, need to consider closing borders with him if it looks like he plans to send galleys east.
Analysis: I kept one GP kicking around for an eventual Shrine of Hinduism. That's assuming Sal doesn't build it. Probably would've been better to settle him in retrospect. We have a huge chunk of terrain to the east we can settle uncontested.
The AI tech pace is abyssmal. I feel like we have already won the game and just need to play it out. No one is any credible threat. Saladin is our biggest threat (assuming Louis doesn't succeed in rexing into all of our land) and he is already contained and friendly.
If we succeed in rexing the remaining land to the east without crashing our economy we could win any victory condition.
I don't know that I've ever had such an easy monarch game, lol. What looked like a crap start for us actually worked out because the AI got it even worse imho. Joao and Kublai and Toku were crippled in their start locations. Suleiman crippled himself by giving everything to Liz, who doesn't pose a threat being a vassal. Saladin is now boxed in. Louis is the only wildcard. As long as we secure more of the remaining land than Louis we win...easy.
