Has anybody made this mod component to the trade system? I'd like it if you were able to trade gold-per-turn for resources. If nobody's made this, could you tell me how?
Something like this is very needed, but I have no idea if anyone has done similar. It makes no sense to have 7 Dyes and not really get anything for them since the AI doesn't like trades. But if you sell 6 of them to an independent entity that would be cool. And then the AI could buy them I suppose. And if 6 are being sold to this entity than the price per is lower than if only 5 or lower are. Do you mean a component like that?
It sounds like he meant the reverse, where you trade gold and some independent entity gives you resources. I think both are needed and are something I had planned to include in my mod, I just don't have a clue how to do it, heh.
I didn't see anywhere that he said something about an independent entity... but by independent entity, do you guys mean like an open market or auctionhouse (to steal something from MMORPGs) type deal where you can place resources out there to be bought by some other (any other) player?
I've been considering something like this, but I imagine that one would want different markets depending on relations between different players.. I mean, you don't want somebody you're at war with buying up your iron or oil supplies on the market.

I suppose you'd need to make the decision on yanking your exports then. It would add a new diplo option to ask people to stop exporting Resource A because it's getting into your enemy's hands.
You'd definitely need a luxury market, a health/food market and a strategic resource market. It would be cool to see how that worked.

why not? Historically war has never been an embargo to commerce, even germany and russia were still trading on the open market after stalingrad, through 3rd parties the US has always sold to it's enemies, (japan, cuba come to mind first) just the price goes up....so I could see a mod letting surplus *even* strat. rersources be sold to an enemy.
