I know there is going to be an expansion disk for CIV 3 soon but I was dissapointed that there were only going to be 8 more civs, although I'm really happy that I'll finally be able to play as the Koreans. What civs do you think were left out? Where's Canada, Mexico, and Poland? How about Israel? How come there isin't any spokesman for the South East Asia countries or the Oceanic cultures? Any other ideas?

not again!!!!!!!!!

 LtKiller, calm down...
Maybe we should make a procedure, when you sign to be a member the search option is presented... along with The Unstopabble RTFM Black Spammer, aka LtKiller :)

The only difference between civs is their traits, units and leaders. All of which you can change. :p I won't be buying PtW for the civs. I'll be doing it for the destruction of other foolish humans who dare face me! :groucho:

I agree, this would be a good idea...

Actually, I've several times had trouble finding a thread again that was really hot two days before - because it had gone to poage three becasue of tripple posts...... PH had a time when he merged threads like crazy, sometimes three or four times a day!

I must admit that evertime someone falls off the turnip truck and starts another one of these "new civs" or "new leaders" or "who's the cutest unique unit" crap threads I just want to vomit all over the rug.

The first 37 times that each topic was posted, they may have been interesting but now they are just an opportunity to demonstrate how out of tune with the game many novice players really are.

FOR ONCE AND FOR ALL: Civs are only graphics wrappers cuddled around alimited set of 15 possible combinations of civ specific traits. We already have 16 civs with 8 more confirmed on the way. May of these will be repeats of existing civ trait combos with just a variation in aggression or the realtive worthlessness or value of the Unique Unit. All of these settings can be set in the current editor.

Continuing to ask for new civs without asking for new civ specific traits or abilities indicates that the poster has no idea how the game works. Its sort of like saying, "I want a new car so I can drive it on the highway" and then having someone say "Why don;t you just use the car you have and shift the thing out of park." Yes I know many people have no clue how to use even the most minor features of the editor, but civ specific abilities and aggression levels are simple enough to almost be classified as learning to go to the bathroom by yourself.

Sorry fo the rant, but this just reinforces the lowest levels of mindless mouse clicking in the game and it encourages Firaxis to ignore real content in favor of Marketing Fluff like more civ repeats that will do nothing but clutter game play fundamentals for a market segment that already seem to be a bit cornfused (sic) just with the existing 16 civs.
