More on evil civs having a peace with barb ritual

It has been suggested many times that evil civs should be able to build a ritual that allows a temporary time of peace with the barbarian nations. Why do people think this would be good?

Here's my points:
1) Encourages evil civs to up the AC because they can, if they like, cause the horsemen to attack other (non-evil) nations and leave them alone. Upping the AC is often desirable to counter "late game stagnation".
2) Encourages evil civs to wage war before 10% of their units are destroyed due to the burning blood promotion (see my suggestion). This will also counter late game stagnation.

My suggestion for the ritual:
Return to the Wild
Buildable only by evil civs
Cost: ? (not too expensive)
Causes 20 turns of peace with barbs but causes all of your units to gain the burning blood promotion.



Thoughts? Any other reasons to have this ritual? Reasons to not have this ritual? Do people have better ideas for the ritual?
 
if the differing barb civs were implements ALA snarko's mod, you could have a ritual which creates peace with the AC barbs, while retaining war with the others.
 
Just to toss my tuppence in (I want it back mind you):
I was planning an event where a player could return Orthus Axe to the barbarians in return for peace. I was thinking maybe have options apart from yes or no, like "no, as I wield the axe I am your new king" - create a minister koun style event where a barb city becomes a special vassal to whoever owns the axe.
 
I really don't understand why some people are so obsessed with barbarians...

Play the Clan, or Doviello.
Switch the barbarians off.

See? That was easy.
 
For some reason this didn't work the last time I tried. I think I'll give it a go again.

I've suggested this for a long time, but in my version it would be an AV specific ritual that only works when you are at war, and also breaks the barbarians peace with your enemies.
 
If the different factions for barbarians are added, I would like to see Despotism add peace with the armageddeon barbs if your state religion is AV. That seems like a nice, easy way to control it. And the penalty of not getting any of the other civic options under that catagory is large enough to balance it out.
 
I would like to see the regular orc barbs split off from the AC barbs. Although...now that I think about it...they are the same-ish. Orcs are just the Bannor that got twisted when their goddes fell. They would be somewhat under Agares' domination.
Er...not that the Horsemen are really under his domination. I don't really know what their purpose is. The fears of the gods made manifest. The good gods' fears apparently. Why wouldn't they attack random orcs too?
Bah, it's just the way it is because it's easier to implement. I shouldn't hurt my head thinking about it too much.
 
I'd like to see a ritual that lets you (the barbarian trait player, not those pansy diet-evil civs) summon more barbarian units. Before focusing on how the other players interact with the barbarians, I think there should be more work on the barbarian trait.
