More Terrains / Terrain Features / Bonus Ressources [IMPLEMENTED]

With maize, pumpkins and beans you have finally all three of the agriculturally important "Three sisters"
I see, somebody else has also read all that stuff about indigenous plants of the Americas. :)
And yes, everybody interested in the indigenous plants of the Americas should know things like "Three Sisters" or "Columbian Exchange".

Hm, since I am currently experimenting a bit, what I can do with different styles considering "Plants" (Terrain Features or Bonus Ressources):
(Trying to improve my skills as a grahical modder - still learning.)

Here is my newest experiment: Passion Fruit

It is my favourit fruit since I had been living in Brazil (Manaus, Amazonas) - which is almost 20 years ago now.
Still remember the "Encontro das Aguas“ and how amazed I was to see Rio Negro and Amazonas form this giant "Large River".

Here I was living / studing / enjoying live when I was 23:

Boy did I have a great time there. :)
But no, I still can not dance properly - Germans are not built to do such things.
But I learned ... well ... other things ...

So ok, this one here is from @stolenrays: Yellow Squash
(I only modified minor details in fine tuning. e.g. I created a better Button)

Well, I am still trying to improve my technique. :)

Here is my next experiment: Guava.

I heard the first time of Guava when I was in Brazil as well. (See above.)
Sinc then I really love Guava Juice - people who have not tried it yet really missed something.

So ok, the last days I had good progress with Bonus Ressources.
(Still need to fully finish and balance them though.)

After that I will focus again on Terrain Features:
(There is still a lot of work to to for those.)

Add more vegetation (as Terrain Features):
(Similar to "Lush Grass" and "Shrubs" and "Barrel Cactus" and "Mangroves" and "Swamp" and "Bog" and ... .)

- Spilt remaining normal Forrest Types: deciduous forest (Leaf) and corniferous forest (Evergreen)
- Transform current Bonus Ressource Cactus into Terrain Feature Cactus
- Add further Forrest Types (but I must still refine my concept)
- Add Lichen and Moss (because I really need them for my concept, to add some more Food at specific Thundra Types)
- Add Hedges and Thickets (which I want to have for completion to e.g. add Birds there)
- Young Forest and Burnt Forest (just for diversification but also for Events)
....

Add more non-vegetation (as Terrain Features):
(Similart to e.g. "Rock Reefs" or "Tar Pits" or "Flood Plains" but this time more on land.)

- Volcano (which already existed)
- Flood Plains I already created and added to Plains (just mention it again)
- Nutrient Rich Soil (similar to "Flood Plains"), Nutrient Poor Soil ( had not thought about it but your idea is interesting)
- Sharp Stones ( basically more or less an obstacle in Flatland that Pioneers can remove by "Pioneer Action" digging up --> giving 20 Stone)
- Huge Rocks ( basically more or less an obstacle on Hills that Pioneers can remove by "Pioneer Action" digging up --> giving 50 Stone)
- Impassable Mountains I already created and added to Plains (just mention it again)
- Ore Rich Mountains / Silver Rich Mountains / Gold Rich Mountaints / Gem Rich Mountains ( Similar to my "Impassable Mountains" as Terrain Feature on Top of Mountains)
....

And more (temporary) weather effects (as Terrain Features):

- Tornado
(which already existed)
- Blizzard I already created and added to Plains (just mention it again)
- Fog I already created and added to Plains (just mention it again)
- Sandstorm I already created and added to Plains (just mention it again)
- Rain
- Drought

...

Sorry guys,

I was sick the last days, so only very few updates. :)
Now I start feeling better and can also concentrate longer again.

Thus I started to actually integrate all the graphics I had created into the game.
(Lots of XML to write.)

So ok, the Berries (Huckleberries, Blueberries and Cranberries) are now fully integrated in the game.
I already have ideas to create a Python Event of youg kids selling way too expensive Blueberry-Muffins to the Colonists.

@MightyToad has created this here for us. :)
(They are also animated.)

Edit:

They are now integrated in the game.

Ok guys,

here are the good news. :)

I am now done adding Bonus Ressources for Vegetables, Fruits, Berries, Birds and Animals ....
(All other Bonus Ressources will not be added in Branch "Plains", as they would only work if I add my new Yields, which I will do in a new Branch "Yields".)

I have added a couple of new Bonus Ressources these days.
But I will not spend time to post all the images (because I also forgot to take screenshots sometime).

The last 3 I added today are these here: Muskox, Ibex and Big Horn Sheep.
(All 3 of them are hunted of course. Still having issues with the Big Horn Sheep though.)

Credits for Graphics:
Caveman 2 Cosmos mod
(Originally Unit graphics that I reused as Bonus Ressource graphics.)

But there are also "bad news":

There is still massive work to be invested to finish this branch ...
(But well, I knew that before I started this.)

Hi guys,

a few first experiements to create the following Terrain Features.
(They are mostly intended for the "North" e.g. Tundra.)
  • Lichen
  • Moss
  • Thickets

Not bad news. Just enjoy yourself.

Hi guys,

Looks really nice. Did you create that yourself? If so, I can see you have already become more skilled.

(Thickets needs colour-adjusted)

...

The whole Pfadfinder/Boyscout hype started only in the very late 19th century after the Boer´s War... Having any appear in a time from 1492 - 1792+ should be a singular easter-egg like event and nothing that happens during a normal game.

Did you create that yourself?
Yes and no.

I can not create 3D models like that from scratch yet, I need something existing that I can modify.
Thus I used other assets as starting point to create them, so I did not create them from scratch.

The Thickets I mostly created myself (using "Wheat" as base).
The Lichen and Moss are slightly modified versions of stuff I found in Caveman 2 Cosmos.

Good job, the things you do look quite interestring. I is a pity I can't use all of them in my you.
Concerning the pineapple tree, I think this should look different, maybe the whole tree a bit lower (so only a short part of the tree and the leaves are visible) with only one single pineapple on the top.
