Anyone else worried about them launching with only 1 per Civ?
It worries me alot because I feel it will get boring to play against the same 14 AIs over and over and over. (I say 14 because my friends and I play and take 4 different leaders, leaving 14 for the computer)
I understand their behaviour is randomized slightly each game, but still!
Here's hoping it's not the case.
I'm hoping that most of the bad news we've received lately comes from rumors or simply partial information.
There has never been an unofficial source stating each civ has only one leader, we've merely only had 12 leaders revealed (for 12 civs). There's been a few other leaders possibly revealed via unconfirmable (as of yet) sources, and those are also for the other civs.
However. this could just mean they're revealing this bit by bit.
Maybe after we have all 18 civilizations confirmed, and the first 18 leaders, they'll reveal more of them.
Honestly though... I guess I won't be that angry if there's only one leader per civ.
Our modding community is awesome. People like Capo, Ekmek, and other big leader guys will probably have leaders out for the game not too long after release.
Hell, Civ4 already had like 20 downloadable civilizations within the first season of the game's release, it seems.
Not to put any pressure on those modders, I'm just saying -someone- will have downloadable civs out not too long after Civ5's release. I can almost guarantee it.
I haven't seen a modding community this active since The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (which still seems to have more mods released per day than its sequel, Oblivion, and it's semi spiritual successor from another franchise, Fallout 3.)
If you don't believe how great our community is, go tour the creation forum. Specifically the graphic section especially. My mind is blown by how much we (the community I mean) accomplish. Some of Ekmek's and Capo's newest leaderheads look arguably better than anything present in Civ4 (see especially the group effort with Alexander the Great and Adolph Hitler. Now compare that to some of the sillier Civ4 leaderheads like Cyrus "Gay Pirate Jesus w/ Cigar Hat" the Great of Persia.
Hell, modders fixed up Sury II and Darius I fairly quickly, making one look human and the other have a more accurate beard and skintone.
It's gotten to the point where Firaxis is in contact with many modders here, so I have a feeling that they'll release something that'll be favorable at least amongst Civ4's modding community.
