Anyone ever play "Pefect General"
Had it on the Amiga and it was a great strategy game. Think they have perfect general 2 for pc..

Actually one of my true favorites. I didn't list it though because I thought it would get a big  as a reaction. Truly a classic though for its day. Not sure if it was I or II that I was playing when Panzer General came out... I didn't see another game for a very long time. PG set the new standard but Perfect General was great too.

Actually I played Conquered Kingdoms and the Lost Admiral more, but I did play Perfect General....what was that company..QQP or something?

SMAC (SP Play. MP took too long)
Shogun: Total War (MP Play)
Medieval: Total War (MP Play)
Sid Meier's Gettysburg! (SP & MP Play)
Combat Mission - Barbarossa to Berlin (SP & MP PLAY)
Many Faces of Go (SP Play)

Games which were addictive the first time through but not very replayable due to their linear gameplay:

1. The Secret of Monkey Island
2. (I cannot remember the name of the game right now to save me, but it was a similar game to Secret of Monkey Island whose theme was set in the Mexican Day of the Dead.)
3. Riven (Myst game)

CIV series I-IV (hopefully), including Colonization,
Medieval & Rome Total War,
Lords of the Realm II.

I have played each of these game all night long at least once:crazyeye: and for months on end, and they are the only games that are still fun to play after all these years.

Did you play Multiplayer FlakPanzer? If so, I was known as UglyElmo in the Medieval Lobby. Good to see some more TW players here. :)

I actually never did play multiplayer, though I would have loved to, AI gets pretty stupid after a while.

It is great to see another TW fan. I pretty much alternate between CIV and TW, depending on what I'm in the mood for. They are the only games I play. I've tried RTS, but they are all the same and they all stink! Long live turn-based strategy! :king:

PlayShogi: Is there a Shogi game for the PC? I am a GO player (you may know it as Wei Chi or Baduk) and I have seen the game online, but never had anyone who actually knew how to play. I wasn't aware of a PC game. The game looks interesting and I would like to know more about it.

FlakPanzer: If you ever want to try MP MTW, let me know. Playing against a person is a lot tougher than the AI. Plus the veterans know all the tricks and what units/upgrades are best. I can ease you into it, since I am a "professional victim" in the MTW MP lobby. :)

The Civ games of course-and as this thread has been moved to all other games-the best game that none of you has ever played-a Lord of the Rings game a friend of mine made in the 70's-it was a board game custom artist drawn map of middle earth-wooden pieces for the major armies-lots of bells and whistles-a killer three person game with Sauron as the third player-we played it for hours for years-making up new rules and playtesting as we went-it had an honor system invisible movement for whomever had the ring-a reason I suppose it didn't have much commercial potential-a truly great game-better than the movies:p :crazyeye: - and I have to mention two non-computer games Ghengis Khan-and Uncharted Waters-never had a gaming experience quite like sailing across the Atlantic to the New World for the first time-I almost went blind playing that game-yeah-Im an older one-:crazyeye:
