Yes... the music does greatly make up for the lame parts of the video. It's like Westwood had the song made with that in mind.

I don't know if it count's, but the introduction in Far Cry 2 is terrible. You're riding in the back of a cab listening to a boring story and nothing interesting happens. It's also unskippable, which I loathe.

The worst opening for me is Endwar. Very awesome game, but the opening has ABSULOTLY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GAME! At least it's short and easy to skip. I also have a gripe of being forced to do the "Road to War" or whatever it's called. It explains the plot, but by the time you do the first Russian Mission (Easiest. Mission. Ever. By the the way. All you have to do is move your starting units comprising entirely of Infantry, put them into cover, and wait for 20:00 Minutes while wave after wave of transports get blown up by your Infantry). I just want to get into the real WWIII simulation, what the game was sold for!
I also don't really like Rome: Total War's intro, either, but probably has to do with not being able to skip it than anything else.
My favorite Intro is Metriod 1. It's only 5 Seconds long, but it shows your going to kick some major ***.

Age of Mythology wasn't too bad.
Though the C&C Red Alert opening videos are always entertaining for me. I love that song Hell March, so much so that I generally have that on a loop while playing the game.
