What, you ask, is the relevance of this fact to Civilization IV? Well, you've been playing Civilization IV for ten hours straight, and suddenly you have a headache. "Oh no!" you say to yourself. "This is happening because I've been playing too much!"

... Probably. But you might first want to rule out the dehydration factor before you quit Civilization IV.

And the reason why I post this here tonight? Because I just recently alleviated a headache I originally attributed to 5 hours of Civilization, but turned out to be simple dehydration.

Stay Civving, my friends.

(For you skeptics out there, this here is "proof").

Reading this post gave me a headache. I drank a glass of water, and my headache is still there. Now what, doctor?

man, i'm thirsty

But get it from a river if you want to be rich. Especially one with a levee, or better, a dike next to it. Combined with a watermill, that will get you some money.

And here I thought all my headaches were caused by my wife and kids:lol:

What a coincidence, I got a headache yesterday, and I just attributed it to playing Civ too much.

What if I had a headache and then played Civ, and it goes away? A miracle?

Hell no, everyone know by now that any condition you have before starting/loading a game disapears in a matter of minutes.

heads off to build an Aqueduct

I had a headache the other day too because I was playing a lot of civ myself. Merry x-mas and happy new years.

I get that often if I, playing for longer then 3 hours. I tend to just leave the game there, get out , walk abit, take a bath and come back a while later. It will give you a fresh perspective on your current situation of the game and you won't have any headache =D. This is why most of my games are 7hours long...

That's the funny thing about Civ., I get headaches from playing and from not playing. Headaches themselves are not so funny, my heart goes out to suffers of cluster headaches in particular.

Headaches from playing do occur. Lalabunny is right, people need a break from playing a computer game. I remember one of the manuals recommended that and they were right. The problem is "one more turn". We need to play a less addictive game.:)

No, headaches are not funny at all. Mine usually come the day after I eat desserts. My wife doesn't let me play long enough to get a Civ headache. Take a break to go shopping or sweep leaves. Ah, well, domestic bliss.:)

It's probably just me, but, I've never had a problem with taking breaks from Civving. This is usually because, even though I'm playing Civilization pretty much nonstop, a lot of times I spend thirty minutes between two moves considering what I should do, and like so, most of this time is also spent doing something more productive while I'm trying to optimize my possible future actions.

It's like how I play chess. A lot of people like to play "Live" chess, but I prefer the kind where you spend one day or so per move. This allows both players to play to their fullest potential. Also, I have multiple chess games going on at once (and multiple Civ games going on at once) too keep me from being bored.
