To maybe help make it intuitive consider the reason we think in three dimensions. It is because we can interact three in dimensions, we can move up or down or front or back or left or right.

If a being couldn't move up or down not in whole or in part, it wouldn't need to waste mental resources on a third dimension.

For all one knows all humanity might look to some different alien species as some single inanimate formation, such as what to us is a hill or a large rock. That would also explain why they apparently leave us alone. How often do you bother changing stuff in some hill..

Doesn't topography supposedly deal with isomorphism, ie if shape x can given finite number of alterations be viewed as shape y?

Then again if the pool of dimensions is hugely larger, or differently interwoven, i suppose that maybe any shape can be examined as any other shape, so isomorphism is already total. And likely in an infinite time-span anything potentially manifesting has already manifested.
