Well, he did work in the Matrix films (regardless of only the first Matrix movie being actually interesting, in my view). I haven't seen Constantine, but heard it was based on Beksinski images for the backgrounds.

-Gibson

I don't think he was a bad actor. True, at a time he was considered as one of the main names, but he was good for the movies he was in (Braveheart, Patriot, Signs-?-), along with being in some crap as well (but afaik he started as a main actor by being in crap movies anyway).
I hated most of his work, although Patriot (despite it being the usual saccharine holywood stuff) worked with him in the lead.

Most of the good actors do tend to become crap after a while too. Jack nickolson probably is a good example there, cause he had a few memorable roles, and then seemed to not care much and just be on the movie on account of having those previous roles. OFOTCN was a good movie, and a good role by him, but what followed was mostly crap.

he played numerous of good films but this does not make him a good actor. "The Devil's Advocate" and "Matrix" are really good films but not thanks to him. Playing in good film and playing good are two different thing IMHO.

I don't think he's bad too but not that good. Just an Average actor.

I heard he's actually not too bad an actor per se (or at least he wasn't originally) but he's been so pidgeonholed into his "comedy" roles that I guess there's really no hope for him anymore.
