Moved up to Noble? Depressed? Not me!

Definitely check out the noble's club. Play along and possibly post there (I hosted the last one but in the past it's been Krick and Bleys). You get to reference what other players are doing in your same game, and also you can get game specific advice at any time just by asking ;).

The war academy was good reading for me at first but after that IMO I got WAY more benefits from seeing how others approached the game and how that fit in with what I wanted to do.
Off I go to the noble's club. Thanks! :)

I have just concluded my 25th game since I moved up to Noble.

25 games just on Noble? Wow, good on you for getting to play that much I guess... I hardly seem to get through any games (or maybe that's because I keep on abandoning them when I start getting frustrated ).

But anyway, good on you mate. Keep having fun with it.

Y'know the part where I lose? I lose early!
Pretty simple strategy, really. I get more games in that way.

Not to disrespect or anything, but I honesty can't see how you can get overwhelmed and lose early no matter what difficulty you play. Do you play until the end, or you just shut down computer with the restart button?:)

Try playing immortal/deity and it's pretty easy to sink yourself early unless you know what you're doing ;).

Bad diplo on either means AI spam kills you or cripples beyond recovery in the BCs.

Also, # of games played isn't necessarily a good measure of time spent playing civ. My average game lasts less than four hours on a standard map when I WIN it, should I fail it's much shorter (the AI doesn't backdoor me much, I see those culture type nonsense things coming, and generally avoid surprise DoWs). Some people take their time and a game lasts 20. That means I have played 5 games to their one...bit of an extreme example but the point is the faster you play the more games you get ;).

I usually stick it out till the end. My problem is that I am still learning my way around. Maybe I'm not ready for Noble yet, but I still try. I usually manage to screw something up in the early game. Sometimes I recover, and sometimes I get clobbered. Like I said earlier in this thread, I learn. It's all part of the fun. :)

Wow, Nobody told you about the Noble's club? I recommend it highly to new players:eek:

Of course someone told Lemon Merchant about that; TheMeInTeam did on the last page. Dude, you need more critical reading skills. :D

Yes I did find the Noble's club, and I'm getting smeared! I'll post later for your enjoyment and hilarity. :p

"Dude" at least has some positive gender-neutral connotations, as opposed to the "Schmuck" that I usually get (which is quite gender specific and not at all positive) :D. And he did intend it as a positive, so I think we can give the lad a pass.

Now where's that giant disaster of a Noble game you've been talking about?
