mr01 - Off to a bad start (on purpose!)

Following your example, I played 10 more turns.

IBT
Barb moves towards Leipzig.

IBT:
hmm. Barb goes away

T2, 1600BC:
zzz

IBT:
Barb comes back!

T3, 1575BC:
kill barb. Archer promotes. Leipzig grows. Only got 1 MP, so 1 scientist. Writing in 6.

T4, 1550BC:
Move archer into Leipzig. Send scientist to work the fields.
Meanwhile English worker is roading Hamburg’s tiles. Thank you very much!

T5, 1525BC:
zzzz

IBT:
Liz demands our last gold! Or military consists of 3 warriors, 1 spear and 3 archers and considered weak. I comply.

T6, 1500BC:
zzzz

IBT:
Barb horse comes within sight of Leipzig. Oh my!

T7, 1475BC
Kill barb horse. Tax collector in Leipzig. English found Canterbury 4 tiles east of Leipzig. Had thought to found our next town there and sent a worker out to prepare. It now makes a u-turn.

T8, 1450BC
Move vet archer north to get rid of scary horsebarbs before we settle the area.

T9, 1425BC
We get writing. Liz gives us Wheel, Masonry, Mysticism and 15g for it. Not to bad. She also got her hands on Math and HB.

T10, 1400BC settler and a worker goes north

Could one of you guys throw some screenies to us lurkers? :scan:

Could one of you guys throw some screenies to us lurkers? :scan:

i like to wrap mine in the spoiler tag, so it doesn't clog the screen. there is one on the first page.... i'll include another with my turnset tonight.

@knutis= with just two of us playing, want to do 20 turns per set instead of 10?

i like to wrap mine in the spoiler tag, so it doesn't clog the screen. there is one on the first page.... i'll include another with my turnset tonight.

Thank you kindly ;) .

Just noticed the screenie- Dang, England is right up your back. I see a confrontation in your near future. Hammer 'em :hammer: .

Sure, I'm all for that. Btw, are you fine with me moving settler north? Wanted him to utilise 1 or 2 river tiles.

i haven't looked at the save yet (i am at work), so i can't say yet. i'm all for placing cities near rivers for the most part.

preflight--

first thing i do is disband our useless curragh....
next i try to figure out where to put our new settler. coastal placement to grab horsies, i think

we might consider taking hastings if it grows to size two. england has a comparable military to us.

Spoiler :

savie

Change settler in Leipzig to Library. I think we should let it grow a little before we build settler. Library will do much here due to the river tiles. Settler that comes after library should be done about the time Leipzig reaches 5.
Considering changing Koningberg to archer since settler will finish before it grows
Think we should take Hastings and also race York as soon as possible. York because of a possible future flip due to our weak and their strong culture.

T1, 875BC
2MP in Berlin. Turn off lux.

IBT
Hammurabi kicks us from his lands

T2, 850BC
Zzz

T3,850BC
Make Koningsberg produce archer.

IBT
Hammurabi boots us again

T4,800BC
Hamburg grows. We need to turn lux up to 20% to keep them happy. That way we loose 2 turns on map making. Ok, I do it and hope it wont look so bad when we produce settler in 3 and turn back lux.

T5,775BC
Library finishes in Berlin. MapMaking finishes in 9 our science advisor points out . Start barracks. Suddenly Hammurabi got Map Making and Polytheism. He may have traded with Joan who also got those two, or does he have other contacts? Liz btw have researched construction and now got that and HB.
Move archer out of Frankfurt to look for iron.

T6,750BC
Leipzig grows and library finishes. Settler will be done in 8
Koningsberg finish archer. Settler in 10

T7,730BC
Hamburg finishes settler and starts another one. So, let’s move this settler SW to.. Oxford? Looks like the English got themselves another coastal city. Since we need more contacts and it looks like we know everyone on this continent, I move the settler towards the goldhill SE of Frankfurt. It looks like it will get a fish.

T8,710BC
Zzz

T9,690BC
Liz has traded polytheism for HB and som gold to Joan and she got Map Making
Hastings grow to 2, but I think we should get some vet archer before we attack.
T10,650BC
We get MM. No trades. Hammurabi still doesn’t have Literature. Hope he gets HB soon. Start researching currency(done in 15). Hoping to trade it to Hammurabi and to Liz after a hopefully short war.

T9, 630BC
Hammurabi got HB! I can trade it for Lit, but I can also get both HB and polytheism for Lit, 2gpt and 267g(all). Currency will be delayed 2 turns. Oh well, I do It. Joan got iron. Not good. She also got Monarchy.

T10, 610BC
Munich founded and pops goody hut. Have two archers ready for angry barbs. But no! The Angle tribe has taught us Philosophy!! :D
Munich starts galley. Looks like Liz already got Phil and traded it to Hammurabi for our gold. That’s it! Liz must die! In a while!
A barb comes down toward Koningsberg from the north and threatens our worker that’s making road to our next city. Move a warrior out of Koningsberg into the woods beside warrior. Turn up lux and move out of Berlin that will be MP in Koningsberg next turn.

T11,590BC
Leipzig settler=>archer
Settler moves north to found city by the lake. Warrior killes barb

T12,570BC
Hamburg settler=>archer

T13,550BC
Koningsberg settler=>archer
I politely ask Liz to withdraw a spear man on Hamburg Mountain.
Worker finish woodchop by Frankfurt and fins BG.

T14,510BC
Heidelburg founded =>worker
Nurenberg founded =>archer and gets 25g from barb camp

T15,490BC
Frankfurt library=>settler

T16,470BC
Berlin horse => archer(cheaper)

IBT
Hammurabi demands 20g. He outnumber us, so he’ll probably declare(he’s also annoyed). I really don’t want a war with him right now so I give in to his demands.

T17,450BC
Cologne founded =>worker

T18,430BC
Zzzz
T19,410BC
Berlin archer=>archer

T20,390BC

Good luck with the English!

I will not be able to play my set for a day or two. Anyone want to fill in?

I am new to the world of succession games, but I'm interested. I have won on emperor playing single player before, and shouldn't be completely hopeless. Do you guys want to give me a shot?
