Multi-session Gamespy game - for Europeans with day-jobs (or Americans without them)

So we won't be playing?

I'd like to know so I can schedule an other game.. :)

Hmm, tough call.

Let's cancel it. We are missing two civs - France and (for this session) Egypt. Based on the other posts, we have a good chance to get some playing during Mon-Wed so we don't really have to play this Sunday.

Sunday Cancelled

LzPrst - I hope you can join in as France or find a sub. It is no longer pw protected.

Next session is Monday 20:00 GMT.

And this time there is no grace period! If you're late, you can join in after the game has started, assuming you can recall your pw :)

Reminder:

We're playing again tonight, Tuesday, Jan 31 at the regular hour (20:00 GMT)

Forecast:
On Wednesday - no game (I can't attend).
On Thursday - not sure yet.
Friday - not sure yet... maybe start a little later than usual?
Saturday - another game is being organized - the Saturday DirectIP club, so we'll have to see. Some of you are signed up to it as well.

Fun playing with you. See you there.

Dux - what's with your computer? Try to fix it buddy. Maybe test it in GS beforehand to see if its fixed. And see if you can "train" someone to be your team-mate and take over France.

For me:

Thursday: can't make it
Friday: can make it
Saturday: likely can't make it

It's my graphic card, which goes buggy way too often lately, don't know what to do, other than wait for a new card as soon as it gets here.

As for a friend taking over as france, I doubt it, but we'll see. I'll be there today, hopefully comp won't freeze, any ideas on what it can help?

Dux, what exactly happens? The screen just gets blurry / full of vertical lines? My friend had a problem like that with civ4, and it was simply due to the video card overheating. I opened his comp, and removed all the dust (I think especially removing the GPU fan and cleaning it helped), and I told him to play without the side panel. Has worked like a charm since then.

..now I'm waiting for my laptop to fry. It's gotten pretty damn hot a couple of times while playing civ.. and Acers, I hear, are famous for heat issues

My girlfriend used to play WoW on a Sony laptop, and it would get as hot as hell. One day, the graphics chip finally buckled under the heat (system crashes whenever a 3D app is run), so it's now only used for 2D apps. :)

Screen freezes, randomly, sound goes off, & when it's huge maps on late games, it says unsufficient video memory & it crashes, my card is an 128mb card, 2 years old, but it's been hard to replace it, I can't find a 256 mb card here with AGP.
