Multiplayer cross-compatibility?

Hello,

I have searched for an answer to this, but have found mixed information.

My girlfriend has a MacBook Pro, and I have a desktop PC. If she gets Civ IV Complete on Steam, and I install my copy of Civ IV and BTS from disc (don't have Warlords), will we be able to play together?

it should* work. the biggest problem might be OOS (out of sync) errors, which you can usually fix by reloading the map. but fully patched 3.19 BtS between macs and pcs should work. here's a thread to back me up: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2487754

however, i will do what i always do and plug my way of porting the windows version of to osx. the link is right here. once you are running the windows port, you can also play with mods, and it's a bit faster and more stable.
