Multiplayer Game Setups!

Well seeing that we have the new ranger thing, I'm going to take Saytr's advice and create a thread to orgainize game playing times.

To start things off, I have a game up right now as of 10:53
 
=P do pop into the erebus channel from time to time... some of us do get MP games going there, though its quiet at certain hours of the day/week
 
I was trying to get a game set up using the Game ranger to check out how it works
 
For the first few turns I can imagine that everybody does it much quicker. The timer for the turn stops once the last human has taken their turn, then the new timer begins for the next round (which is why it is typically set to 24 hours, since you don't know when each turn will end precisely).


But yes, people do a single turn when they log in, and the game itself spans 1-3 months. It is for more relaxed play style, and typically they are more democratic games (negotiation of treaties/exchanges frequently done via email).


Unfortunately, none of them work in FfH since you need all players to log in from the lobby at the same time or you get an instant OOS (normal MP faces this issue as well, not entirely certain what causes it TBH, it is just not an issue in MP since everyone is right there and able to log in at the same time).
 
It's been literally years since I've played a game of Fall from Heaven, online or offline, but I just dropped by to try the game out again and saw this thread. Do people still use Hamachi virtual LAN to play these games?
 
Yep a few of us still do over Hamachi or Direct IP connect.
Couple of us meet in the erebus channel to play, some have their own static sets.

I'm still learning the ropes of what's different in this version, but I'll get online some time and play.

Damn, that is what I was afraid of. :(

FfH would be perfect for a huge diplogame with lots of intricate diplomacy and roleplaying.
