Multiplayer improvements

Does anyone know if the devs have said anything about multiplayer improvements over Civ 5? It would really be awesome to see a stronger focus on this. Most of Civ 5's multiplayer weaknesses were never fixed or even really looked at in subsequent patches and expansions.

The biggest shortfall is the turn setup. Simultaneous warfare is basically a crapshoot, and although hybrid is better for strategic PvP, it's pretty annoying to have to sit with a frozen screen for five minutes or more while the other players take their turns. Being able to view your cities and various other menus while on off-turns -- having something to look at while you're twiddling your thumbs -- would make the multiplayer experience substantially better. Honestly I never understood why this wasn't possible in the first place.

Other really basic multiplayer stuff I'm hoping for:
-being able to see opponent's units move and attack inside your territory on sequential / hybrid
-improved stability / fewer player drops
-some way to find and re-add non-friend players that have dropped
-multiple AI difficulty levels
-multiplayer mod support

I feel like it would be way too much to ask for rankings or a ladder... but this stuff all seems like it should be super simple to implement, and it would make a world of difference. Has anyone heard if any of these changes are coming? Or should we expect the same lackluster multiplayer from BE?

Maybe it's because there is a timer and you have only this time and nothing more to do what you need to do. But an option for what you said could be nice and this option could be good especially in friendly games.

Ho this would be a must. And I got even better, a system like CSGO that punish the quitters. They need to take a contract on how turn they want to play or time, otherwise punish!

On this I'm not agree. Using the custom league is far smarter than what you ask for.

My friends and I play sequential turn games with each other, no turn timer. None of us feel like we are twiddling our thumbs. We all gab over voice chat, I read a book in between my turns, and all in all a fun time is had by all.

Assuming there will be DLC's like in Civ 5, I would really, really like it if the lobby barred people from joining games with DLC's enabled that they don't have.

Also some filters on the lobby screen would be nice, like only show games with expansion x or dlc y enabled or maptype z.

If vanilla was geared to MP, it was done pretty badly - it was barely functional. MP was made more usable and stable in those expansion that were "focused on enhancing the single player experience".
