Is there any way to play multiplayer with a custom scenario?

Yes there is but for custom scenarios with more than 8 civs in it you must merge civs into factions. There can be no more than 8 players in a multiplayer game whether it is hotseat, PBEM, or online. I wonder if you could even go online to play live anymore? The only catch with MP games is that once you've decided to play one style you must stick with it. Meaning you cannot decide after playing a PBEM game to change it to hotseat.

    Hi -

How to play a cheatless online internet game with a friend? Our problem is, that you can open any game style in any format and so make e.g. a hotseal game and have a look on the other side. How to prevent that?

    Trust?

Lan simultaneous is pretty good for not giving visibility cheats since you don't trade the save file every turn, but once you save the host still has the save file they can crack open.

Most players in the Civ community are honest and don't cheat. We play using the honor code because the joy of playing with a human instead of the Ai is too great to ruin by cheating. We are after all adults here right? ;)
