Multiplayer

Me and my friends just brought this game on steam and we cant play online together. it will just keep saying attempting to connect. we forwarded some ports but still no luck.

yeah me and my friends have civilization 3 complete edition. i will create a room and they would join but when i launch a game they tell me it counts down saying attempting to connect and when it gets down to zero it counts down again. i tried again this morning i noticed some people have the same problem. is there anything specific we could try?

Ok, right edition forum, go up to CIVILAZATION III and you will see Civ 3 Technical Support, within you will find "Sticky:Crashing Multiplayer? -Info on Firewalls, Routers and Proxies". I hope it helps as otherwise playing hot-seat could get cumbersome. I was happy w/the idea of MP until I found it limited to 8 players. It doesn't spoil it (but a little bit). Might also try "Multiplayer and PBM sub-forum, it has a Q&A.

I believe I read a post somewhere that steam dl does not allow MP.

I also have C3C from Steam. To play Multiplayer, I use Hamatchi to set up a VPN and then we connect through "LAN".
