With the release of the new expansion pack shortly, it seems that I'm going to be somewhat divided between playing modded vanilla and FfH2. Anyone know how to do multiple Civ4 installs so I can switch between the two? Or will the team look into making FfH2 compatible with the new expansion pack?

In any case you wouldn't need to install two civs but just switch the cds. So as long version 0.24 for BTS won't be stable you still should be able to enjoy 0.23 with your vanilla disk if you don't want to take part in the bughunting.

Why would you need multiple installs? If you use the original CD you can play any vanilla mods, like FfH2, and with the BtS CD you can play the expansion.

Yes, the next phase of FfH2 is for the expansion.

edit - ugh, beaten by Ploep....

Its not so much that you need the cds - they do nothing after install, just overly bulky keys - you just need to run the old vanilla executable which should still be accessible same as always. Due to modability civ4 expansions work like entirely new games that just share assets.

For some reason I won't refer to in detail I got seriously pissed about poeple forwarding anything related to piracy and Firaxis Games. If you don't need cds you're using cracked exe files and should better get the hell out of this forum!

I think MacGyver was speaking metaphorically: he was suggesting that the cds don't actually do anything other than function as a "key", and it's the executable file that actually matters.

I did not know this, thanks!
