I read in the Modpacks thread that a lot of the music is from Enya and stuff but I am curious about the Ashen Veil theme music. It sounds like some kind of Catholic hymn but I couldn't work out what it is (I tried using google with some of the words).

Could anyone plz fill me in as to what the AV theme music is and what artist made that particular version?

All of the religion theme songs are from Enya except the Overlords. The Ashen Veil theme is 'Pax Deorum' from the The Memory of Trees CD.

Where IS the overlords one from? I quite like it :)

Its from a song by Sting called "Desert Rose". The clip that I used isn't Sting singing, and is a much better singer than Sting in my opinion.

Could you maybe make a list of all the songs used in the game? The music is fantastic, and I would really like to look it up.

I was pleasantly surprised to find Arcanum among the artists. If you add any more music to the soundtrack, might I suggest Sophia? It's a side project of one of Arcanum's members. Some of the earlier stuff has a militaristic sound, which might be fitting for the game. Mostof it has a sound fitting for some of the evil-inclined civilizations.

I love whoever threw in Mariner's Revenge Song as the Lanun theme. Where is the Hippus theme from? It's very jaunty.

Sorry for the little offtopic, but is it possible to add some music to the early/middle game when there's no state religion? Just finished game as a Grigori and it was for the most part terribly silent. The only music I heard was when diplomacy screen kicked in, until the late game when some music finally starts to play.

Strange, I'm pretty sure many songs, especially those of Fellowship and opening menu are from Heroes of Might and Magic IV (although slightly modified). And the composer is Rob King, not Enya.

I just meant the themes, those brief tunes that play when you found the religion. There aren't any HoMM tracks in the mod but there are a lot of songs from Rich Douglas that sound similiar to HoMM songs. All of Rich's music is used with his permission, he is an awesome guy.

aaah, I see.
anyways those music that I mean do not sound similar. They are the same with small arrangements.

edit: I checked all 30 songs from Rich Douglas on the website you linked, but none of them is similar to HOMM. The songs taken from HOMM4, namely are:

- OpeningMenu.mp3
- Leaf3.mp3
- Rune4.mp3

I've been playing HOMM4 for ages and I recognize these songs without the slightest doubt at the second note. The openingmenu one is a bit rearranged if I'm not wrong (I've heard it too many times now... I'm not sure anymore !), the other 2 are plainly those from HOMM.

I believe the band's name is Arcana, not Arcanum. And yes, it's awesome to find them here as they're one of my absolute favorites.

I know the feeling :D But it's nice hearing music similar to that of one of my favourite games in another of my favourite games.

Oh, yeah. I was playing Arcanum a few days ago. My bad.

As coincidence would have it your faux pas was also correct. We use a few tracks from Arcanum. Trokia was cool enough to post all the tracks from Arcanum on the internet for free download.

Im glad im not crazy; I heard the opening music and thought "Did my Civ IV CD and Heroes IV CD have a baby...?"

Its nice to hear it elsewhere though, its good music, and nice to be able to recognize it.
