My Civ4 Annoyment List

Diplomacy isn't that bad.

If you want to quit, then quit, but don't go all drama queen on us. :p

No but see, here's the thing: I don't want to want to quit. I want to not want to quit, but in order to not want to quit, the developers of Civ V are going to have to improve diplomacy so I don't want to quit, which is what I want. And not only do I want to feel satisfied playing Civ, I want to want to feel satisfied playing Civ, and the developers want me to want me to feel satisfied playing Civ, because if I want to play Civ, then I'll want to pay them money to buy their games. And I prefer to want to spend money on games that make me satisfied than not want to spend money at all. And I'm sure most of you feel the same way. And if not, you want to feel that way, and I want you to want to feel that way, and Firaxis wants me to want you to want to feel that way, which coincidentally I want. Don't you want to?

I completly agree with the OP. This is such a huge annoyance. I dont suppose anyone has modded or can mod something like this?

"Think of these long lasting wars with no shots as Cold Wars"

Only problem is that the USA and USSR were never officially at war.

The U.S. never officially declares war on any country; we just bomb whom we please. But ignoring that for this discussion . . .

The Cold War did have all of the other Civ4 effects: negative diplo modifiers, no trade, pitting other countries against each other, spying, arms race, etc. So in a way, the Cold War was exactly like a non-aggressive Civ4 war.

Amongst my greatest gripes is when the AI proposes a trade so idiotic that not even an inebriated lunatic would accept it. For example, they'll offer their World Map for mine, even though they've barely explored the world and I know its every nook and cranny.

Or they'll offer me Deer for Uranium of Oil or Aluminum or Coal. WHA?!?!?!?!?! You want me to furnish you with the ingredients of a mighty modern army, often one with nukes, when you're not even in the Industrial Era, in exchange for VENISON?!

I wish there were an option to bash in a leader's face with a sledgehammer during diplomacy, or at least be able to refuse to talk or trade something. Give the player the same options the AI has.

The only annoyance from any Civ is that I don't have more time to play it. Everything else is minor trouble:D
