Sadly enough, I doubt that i'll be able to participate much in the very first C4 Demogame, I simply don't have the money to buy the game yet....It may take me around a month to scrounge up the cash for it, maybe more, so you can count me out of the beginnnning of it, I may be able to join up in the middle though!

I'll try to help out some, but the combat systyem is VERY different and I have only a vague idea of how it works, so my opinion wouldn't count for much then anyway.

Good Luck in the beginnning! I hope to join up soon!

Actually, it isn't really needed to have the game to participate. It makes it a bit hard to be a Governor or Minister, but it is possible.

The same goes for me, i dont have the graphics card to play the game, but i am buying it so i could use the manual i suppose

H'lo,

I was curious about that, actually. Is there an idea of when the DG would start? I would assume that the need of a long wait would be because of those who have a release date that isn't...well, today. ^_^;

It's not so much release dates, but all the decisions that need to be made first. Everything needs to be voted on - which Civ, which leader, world size/climate/age/landmass/land area, what to call ourselves, constitutional issues and who should hold each office. All these things generate a huge amount of discussion and only when those discussions have exhausted themselves is there a vote.

Then the game starts. Creation day involves the world being made, the game is saved, and it's over. Nothing moves - the game is saved before anything else happens.

Then there are reams and reams of extra discussions about the first construction, first research, where to explore, what the worker should do first, whether to build in place or move elsewhere and what our national flag should be. The first set of turns are played online a few days later. Ad infinitum...
