Yes, you have to, otherwise betting on Gilga will make 0 sense .

Real bookmakers adjust the odds based on customer bets, to prevent going bankrupt (eg when Sitting Bull was becoming popular, lower the odds etc.) but here we do not have enough people.

The game was shaping up to finish exactly as I'd predicted! Shoulda known it wouldn't happen, Season 7 is Troll season afterall.
(Funny thing is I actually thought Diplo Victory was a real possibility on this map. Mind you, still not a probable outcome, but something in the 10-20% range as opposed to the usual 0-5%. Only, I thought it would benefit Qin...).

Now, forgetting to place a small bet on the high odds Joao 1st (I did say he could win) is totally on me. Dang.

I finally got around to watching the game. Joao winning by UN feels incredibly unlikely.

That dogpile on Wang really worked in Joaos favor.

The city placement and lack of fogbusting was hilarious. But China building a settler in a size one city working an unimproved grassland forrest? <shakes head>.
