My Mom Keeps Taking Civ3!!!!

Whats a threadjack? PM me with the answer, Padma! I got it taken away last week because I didn't write my report for English. You guys on the forums helped me survive! I got it back today! I play online sometimes, so it's a bit more painful.

A little late jumping in on this one, but I think Omega should thank his Mom for allowing him 2 hours a day. She is only prepping him for being married later in life.

If he thinks his Mom only giving him two hours a day is bad wait until he gets married and his wife only allows him 1/2 hour per day :D

Then he may beg to go back with his Mom (who was giving it to him longer) which will not go over well with the new bride (they love to be compared to their Mother-in-law) :)

A little late also. But since you posted I will. For one, try this.
Join a sport team or two, whether its playing for your school
or just in a league. Dont do this just to play Civ3 but if there
is a sport you would like to play, do it. I get limited to time
during the summer and msot of the school year. Except for
baseball and basketball season becuase Im going out and doing
something for at least two hours a night.

I dunno, worht a shot. Just figure out where she hides the Cd and
then remind her where it is.

That's actually how long my wife let's my 11 y/o play. Of course, we have five others trying to get time in on the TV, Playstation/GameCube, and computer....

The thing is Civ is the most addictive game ever.... Maybe your mother is aware of this?? If it wasn't for Civ2 my School grades would have been better without a doubt.

My last civ3 game was in June ...i consider myself a Civ player who chooses not to play..Being a Non-civplayer is tougher than being a Civ who doesn't play... like a smoker who chooses not to smoke...

Heh, I'm the same way; I typically go months at a time without playing Civ3 because when I get into it, I find myself playing 10-12 hours a session, sleeping for 2-3 hours, and then playing another 10-12 hours... I waste whole weekends this way...

I'd gone six or seven months without playing; of course, I just picked up Complete a week ago, so now I'm bak into the swing of things, so to speak.

Its such an addictive game. I still play sports, and get good
grades, but only because I dont need that much sleep :D

My weekends are for Civilization and thats about it.

Hehe, I am 27 years by now, my mom does probably not even know that I played Civ3 yesterday till 05.00 am in the morning. :)

I think so, too. She stopped a long time ago to get worried about what I am doing. She would have grey hair by now if she did not... :)

Talk about obsessed. Thats crazy, I thought it was bad
when I played Civ 2-3 hours a night sometimes.

Yeah, i'm 29 and my girlfriend just kept whining that I spent more time playin' than with her. And they say drugs cause addiction, heh.

Try getting her addicted to civ. Worked for my dad. He used to complain when I played civ all teh time, but then I gave him my old Vanilla civ CD......Now he's more addicted than me.

Your mother was accused of corrupting me (for some odd reason), now you are corrupting your own father. CIVIII is corrupting us all! :crazyeye:
