My picture is half off left side of monitor screen. help!

I just re-installed this game for a fix of civ and the picture of the game when i load up is kinda half off the left side of my monitor. Kinda like the resolution is wrong but its at 1024x768 and i dont get it. I tried adding the line
KeepRes=1
But that didnt help. Im not doing something right. I really wanna play this game again does anyone know what i should do?

Im running CORE civ3 no expansions at all. and i dont know if there is any patches for the CORE game but i dont have them if so. couldnt find any core game patches. ok thanks in advance!

Try adding the line Refresh=XX where XX is your monitors refresh rate to your conquets.ini file. To find the refresh rate, right click on the desktop and select Properties. Click on the Settings Tab, and then click on Advanced. Then find the Monitor tab on the new window. It should give you a list of your refresh rates in a drop down box.

If your native screen res is 1024x768, you might also want to add the line Video Mode=1024 as well. Note the space between Video and Mode...

After I upgraded my system (from PIII & AsusMB & Win98 to AMDSemp2600+ & AsrockMB & WinXP) Everything but civ3 worked fine! Problems seemed to bee in Graphic accelerator (MSI Geforce2 Ti).

I Tried compablility mode (winXP to win98) and different drivers for Geforce2 and ofcourse different settings. What really helped were those lines to conquests.ini file, and they were:

Refresh=75
KeepRes=1
Video Mode=1024

I hope this will help someone else too. Now, back too the game...
