Why on earth non mods members try to do jobs that are not theirs and annoy a lot of people willing to have fun. Mods do exist and perform well, I don't think they need advises.

I realise that this is drawing an already wildy off-topic thread even further away, but I think that it is sometimes useful to just tip certain posters the wink that what they are doing isn't right for whatever reason. As I'm sure everyone will appreciate, the mods can't be on the board all the time so when posters are going out of their way to break the rules then they ought to be warned about it. I am all against vigilante justice and people weighing in on a newbie who didn't properly understand where to put a particular thread with a flame war, but a friendly reminder in that thread will suffice. If there were no rules then this place would be awful, and so I don't mind people being community-spirited (as it were) and giving gentle warnings to potential miscreants as long as they don't claim mod status in so doing. It is an offence to impersonate a policeman and I think it ought to be to impersonate a mod here. It can be fun, yes, but also misleading for newbies, especially since the mods no longer all have stealth planes as their avatars.

Wise indeed. I totally agree with you. Nevertheless I think I forgot to state something that partially explained why I was, for once, a bit annoyed.
Imagine a thread where a member posts a one or two words post. If another member replies and says something like "sorry but the rules are blablabla.. no spam please.. blablabla", I would perfectly agree. Now instead of doing that, he/she posts a one word post too, saying: spammer (for instance). Tell me, who's spamming? I think people are not stupid and they can see that's spam, no need to do that. Actually there was a lot of times I saw that so finally I was quite annoyed. Maybe this time I went too far but well, there were a lot of time people flame other ones for spamming, and they do spam too. So if we are talking about justice then let's be fair and state everything. Period. And sorry for having slipped off topic.

If people took more time to read carefully what I wrote..
1) I didn't point out anybody. I wasn't talking about you specifically. Contrary to other people I don't point out one person and I don't flame nor provocate one person specifically.
2) I said I saw that kind of post elsewhere, not in this thread but elsewhere. Hope anybody speaking English understand this sentence. I think elsewhere is not a word too hard to understand.
