My school assignment turned to garbage.

OK, the other day I wrote an assignment for law, and then saved it. Then yesterday I emailed it.

Today the law teacher showed me that it turned into garbage. I checked the copy on my HDD, sure enough, same garbage. I tried opening in a text editor, to see if it was corrupted, but no text.

Attached a zip file to show what I mean.

Any idea what may have happened? It was working just two days ago. I know this because I tried to print it before remembering I was out of ink and all I got was a bunch of pink horizontal lines.

EDIT: I'll just redo it. Stinks, but oh well. Just wondering if there's a cause.

Another edit: My virus scan ran earlier today came up clean.

Well, it was only two days. I didn't know anything would happen in two days. I backup weekly.

Anything could catastrophically fail at ANY TIME!

I'm tempted to post something ridiculing that idea but I fear I may cause something to go wrong.

Reminds me, I should use my external harddrive I bought months ago...
